Well, there's the advantage of IMG. Winning games isn't going to win you promotion so maybe clubs won't try to blow the comp out and spend their money on more sensible things. Like maintaining their grounds.

Shouldn't they have already been doing that before img ?

Yes.  What's your point?

Some haven't maintained their grounds.   Some grounds are in a parlous state.

Ok, let me get this right. So you're saying that ensuring that clubs being prevented from any opportunity to better themselves and gain promotion to a more affluent and competitive league will motivate them to spend a wad of cash on improving their stadium in the amateur tier that they will now  be guaranteed to be stuck in will motivate them to improve their stadium? Ok,.....,................lol

Well wakey managed to make very hard work of that. Toulouse seemed to have very in the way of a game plan. Managed to level the scored through wakey giving away dumb penalties and poor handling errors. Got to be better for Sheffield.

Agree Wakey struggled at times but Tolouse are no mugs and I think they are the best team we have played this season. They seem to be  catching up on their slow start and if they play like tonight they will see off most Championship teams

Thought Toulouse were poor and it was only Trinity's laborious play and slow ruck speed that made it closer than it ought to have been. They only looked dangerous on the back of repeat penalties and their second try was just shambolic defending. Trinty were always a class above and for the 10 minutes or so we actually sped the game up they couldn't handle it.

Sheffield away will be the toughest test so far.

Until 2 years ago, Wakefield Trinity didn't own a ground to invest in.

Belle Vue was owned by Wakefield Metropolitan District Council (WMDC).

WMDC did not invest in BV.

When the club gained ownership of the ground...well, you can see the results already.

Tell me about Cas tigers though...only the IMG threat has made them get the glitter and glue out.

WT only invested because they were gifted £10m+ not because they suddenly got the urge. Oh, and they only gained ownership of the ground because WMDC put up assets owned by the people of the district to secure a £3m loan......

Not correct, but you know that already.

There was no "gift", it was a payment from a developer in return for releasing land that the club held under a S106 agreement.

No WMDC assets have been "put up" by the council. The BV land has been "put up" by the club - just like a house-buyer puts up their home.

You don't need to worry though, Wakefield Trinity won't be missing any mortgage payments.

You should stick to worrying about your own tin-pot village club.

It's a town actually in the WMDC and far from tin pot,for the size of the place we have a club to be proud of. You keep on ' giving' season tickets away to get your crowds up. I thought this was a friendly discussion.

Only kid’s season tickets are free on the back of a paid adults season ticket.  Some clubs give kid’s tickets free without a paying adult, imagine that.

Family member attended. She stated Wakey played well last 10 mins of first half and last 10 mins of second half. Her sister has attended every home and away game so far and she said every game has been the same. Basically good in the same two 10 minute spells.

well to say the crowd tonight was only made up of Trinity supporters and maybe some neutrals, it looked quite impressive. Also I could see no evidence of a massive amount of kids on freebie tickets, Trinity are a club on the up .

Pretty much correct, very displacent at times, too many errors let Toulouse off the hook. However the French outfit keep getting better as the season go's on, we were hoping for a much improved performance however didn't happen. Still a wins a win I also have a feeling Sheffield could turn us over next week.

Hope I'm wrong, up the Trin ⚜️💪

THEIR !!! how many clubs does this apply to ?

As the saying goes, better to own your own terrace house as being a renter in a four bedroom detached
