You can see the 7s influence, and he looks a natural runner, but he doesn't get basics right. Maybe that will come given time.

He turns 30 in August.  He doesn't have a lot of time.

LOL at the announcer trying to wake the crowd up 😄

To be fair, it worked! First bit of enthusiasm (apart from Mr Amor) for the Hull side today!

In union 7’s you only have to beat the first man and chances are you are away. In League there is always a 2nd, 3rd or 4th man who will smash you.

it will still be 10x better than this

We didn't get every match of every week broadcast live in the 90's, we got the select fixtures of the round - the best 2 or 3 fixtures live.

If we had every match from the bottom half of the table broadcast live, would they all have been 10 times better than this (that's rhetorical, don't bother answering).

Some matches are better than others, that's just how sport works.

True, and the beauty of showing every match is you can choose which ones to watch! 😄

Have they finally given up even trying to mark out a rugby league pitch on Hull City’s ground now? The Stadium Management Company are absolutely taking the p*ss at this point, I’d be livid if I was a Hull fan.

Poor quality, not sure Leeds can take much from that performance.

To be fair, it has rained heavily through the night and up until about 13:30.  It would have been hard going for any team on that pitch.

Three good young wingers on display.  Hull their worst enemy in the first half, Leeds lacking much direction in the second but doing enough to win.

Enthusiasm and energy was largely absent from the fixture, the 2 points were a minimum requirement which they could use as a launch point, but not much else to use as a base.

It was a dire game, but as a Hull fan it was least encouraging to see a bit of organisation in defence, and the youngsters all stood up well again. Still a million miles off the pace, but its a step in the right direction.

If we broadcast every game of the season, some of them will be bad.

Why is this surprising?

Who is surprised?
It is legitimate to criticise the level of coverage being too much, or focused on the wrong things, just as it is legitimate to ask for more coverage, or a different focus.

Edited for accuracy.

I know I shouldn't bite but after that game I was a bit bored so decided to make my own entertainment.

Well I enjoyed the game. 2 teams under a lot of pressure, mistakes are going to happen. We're not going to pretend the quality of our play is good. What I wanted as a Hull fan was effort throughout and some evidence of resilience and structure in defence and I think we definitely got that.

We're under-sized and inexperienced as a team. But for the first time in a long time (unless I've forgotten one, first time since August last year), we scored first and were in it until the end. Big step in the right direction.

For Leeds, they'll no doubt feel similar to how we felt when we beat London: a game they should have performed a lot better in and been more convincing in considering relative positions.
