This post is spot on.

I'm sure Rod L would say so too. Are there many who would disagree? Bet not. So why are we doing it. Great for the doner but proving poor for us for reasons given above. No continuity at all bar Fishwick who is put in our team fairly regularly.

But tbh I detest the 2 week loans even more. What benefit have we had from Hooley and Johnson. Cas must love the fact that we are helping in keeping their fringe players match fit. Don't buy the argument that it allows us to have a closer look for a potential future signing. Surely we can get the inside track on players without having them loaned/ pimped to us.

Is that me ?

Anyway totally agree.  At least the worst culprits for pathetic efforts (Reynolds, Aydin and Hall) we won't be seeing again.   But in terms of the other DRs we've seen, who imo have been bang average at this level, why can't we play the likes of Roberts, Tomlinson and Harris instead ?

I get that we have a small-ish squad but I can't help but think that we couldn't do any worse starting with 15-16 of our own players instead (if indeed there is truth in the theory that the constant changes to the HKR players being included each week is doing nothing for morale)

I think Fordy lost control of recruitment at York when the new chairman took over, and in my opinion, that was instrumental in him leaving York. I'm not defending Fordy here, just saying how can a coach pick the team, and get the blame when things go wrong, if he can't select his squad in the first place.

James ford and his assistants simply aren’t  good enough. Every week he’s got excuses, it started with short on middles so we got a few middles in from DR then it was too many DR players so we brought a few middles in on deals for season then it was players having to play out of position then it was cause we sold Reynolds then it was we need another half back! What ever he’s come up with the board at fev have brought players in that he’s wanted.

Plus he keeps blaming the players, which can’t be great for team morale. Like you say, there’s no personal responsibility, it’s always someone else’s fault rather than his own. Sadly, I just can’t see him being sacked.

This is what irks me the most. Points out obvious flaws, as if it's not his job to sort them out. I could stand there on FRTV and say why we've lost.

We can all see what's wrong - bar the coach! Fev fans are amongst the most loyal fans in the league but won't stand for this ###### much longer. I could understand it if we had a poor team after the clear out but this team SHOULD be doing much better especially at Home.

Last season London brought a new coach in and he quickly turned their season around.Same players but they improved their performance at the back end where it counted.Ford came in for us and couldn't fix our wide defence and no real improvement in playing performance.Sheffield had been playing well but London demolished them in the play offs.We should have been aware of the danger in the semi play off but never got stuck into them.We should have been able to win if the coach and players had shown a do or die attitude. With our SL dream shattered Ford and Campbell should have resigned.

APPARENTLY, who knows if it was true but the players were told before the semi final who wouldn't be retained, if so did that have an effect ? Anyway something needs to change before we get in a relegation scrap with teams beating each other -and us!

Before the semi final the players who are no longer with us went out on the ale 2 days before the game that’s the biggest reason they got moved on

Also if Ford got sacked who would you like to see take over?

Personally I’d look for an interim coach with a view to taking time to make sure that we make the right appointment for next season. Maybe John Kear, or someone similar. Ford as, mentioned before, has been supported by the club with signings etc, but there’s really been no discernible improvement. I think it’s irrelevant though, as Mark Campbell won’t sack the current coaching team.

Don't know to be honest but we can't carry on with performances like this and then the coach blaming the players, it's his job to get the players to perform, start by using the wingers more. When was last time Gaz Gale scored ?

Sorry Rob aka Rod but you think like me.

Even if Fishwick and Tennison were better than Roberts and Tomlinson I would have preferred to see the latter. Maybe a case of the sum being greater than the parts in terms of the sum being 'our players' and the parts including DR players. DR must destroy team spirit the longer it goes on particularly when there is no consistency with the players sent out.

And the benefit we've had from short term loans over the years must be in the minus column.

What makes you think that you’ve been so good for so long tat you have to remain good. Swings and roundabouts

sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward

It isn't as though we are saying that though. We knew our playing budget was cut by almost half, but that was still more than other clubs, who to their credit have beaten us. Where it goes wrong with Fev is, the team are still  making the same mistakes, especially in defence. We showed for 20 minutes on Sunday we have the ability within the team to play some great attacking rugby. Then it's as though the team goes in to a meltdown, both mentally and physically. I never though that I'd be saying we're not fit, but you've only to notice players walking back into the line, or stood with hands on hips. That should never be seen on in any game whether amateur, semi-pro or full-time pro.

It is Deano. But be careful not to take the shine off your impressive comeback and eventual win by alluding to us as not good. Fev have got some very impressive players but since Lacans injury Ford as toyed with all different combinations. Swinton Bradford and Wakefield along with yourselves have won at Post Office Road and Wakefield will vouch that is no mean feat after we put them out of the cup then stood toe to toe in a close league match. Fev are in a difficult situation right now but a victory there is still to be well earned and York did that.
