Last time we were nilled was in the Middle Eights by Warrington in September 2017

Last time we were nilled in the Championship was the summer bash May 2016 v Halifax.

Under the never to be forgotten John Duffy! 🤣

For those who want to anticipate when was the last time we lost six on the trot, it was late 2005 on our way to relegation to League 1 (whatever it was called back then).

But I think we'll beat Whitehaven.

Well that's a dark omen!

What a sad state of affairs we are currently in. Solid squad on paper no idea's. Playing Turner at centre is straight out of fordys I don't know how to coach a team playbook.  He destroyed Wakefield and he's on the way with us.

On a different note:- with a crowd of around 1500m against York and they brought a few , what chance of 4 figures next week against Whitehaven who will bring none.

The team not performing is going to affect the crowd big time , especially if the weather is poor ?. This will affect our chances of trying to attract any further players

Haven usually bring a few about 30 but next week they could bring more as they do have a realistic chance of winning.Even if we beat Haven by 40 it does not undo what has happened over the last few weeks.

We won't win by 40 that's for sure.

I know that but even if we did it wouldn't make things right.

It certainly wouldn't hurt imho, we desperately need a win - any score.

I reckon between 40/50 will make the trip over

As always it's worth trying to take a balanced view of any performance, for me there were some good things and some really poor things about our performance last night's game.

The good was - for the most part - the defence and the commitment shown. It's disappointing we conceded two tries in the first ten minutes when down to 12 men, but for the rest of the game the defensive commitment was really good and the line speed was miles better than it had been in the last few weeks. On multiple occasions we had Toulouse kicking from deep in their own half after restricting them to less than 30 metres in sets, and there was some aggression in our contact too, which had been missing in recent weeks.

Now the bad. That increased aggression was often badly channelled, we gave away loads and loads of penalties for late hits or high tackles, and what's worse, lots of them were late in the tackle count. I don't know what the penalty count was but most of them looked fair calls and we didn't give ourselves much chance.

On top of that, stating the obvious but we again lacked any penetration in attack. To be fair Toulouse were extremely solid in defence and I don't think it's a coincidence that that's the third game in a row where they have nilled the opposition, but we didn't help ourselves with the repeated unforced errors when we had the ball.

Personally overall I wasn't anywhere near as disappointed by last night's performance as the York and Swinton games - at least last night we had a dig, whereas I thought we surrendered tamely in the 2 games I mentioned and in the York game got absolutely rolled in the second half and were out-enthused.

As others have said, we need a win next week, confidence will be low amongst the players as well as the fans.

How did Lacans play after weeks out.

Ok , tackled well but he tends to struggle to create openings against the better defences and like the rest of his team-mates didn't threaten very often against a very tough Toulouse defensive line. He got what looked like a head knock towards the end of the game and needed treatment, he tried to resume but was replaced soon afterwards so I hope he's ok.

It doesn't bear thinking about if we don't win next week.

Might need to practise attacking moves if we're going to win. Even in the early stages against York we didn't look to have much of a plan, tries coming from breaks, individual skills and good supporting play rather than anything resembling a planned move.

The  ball is firmly in the boards hands regards reconnecting with stayaway fans. I would think our finances have really suffered this season so far.

Only 4 points  from the relegation spots. Only Dewsbury appear to have been cut adrift, A BIG shake up is needed AND SOON.

Crikey!!!!  I have never known a team have as many shake ups as fev. How many players , and managers have come and gone into last 5 years.

Aye but when we shake up. We shake it up. You should be on your own forum celebrating. Not getting your extra kicks from our temporary demise😉

On the contrary I like fev, but when things aren't going fevs way supporters always want to send coaches to the gallows. Fev are a mid table team at best this season, that is something fans need to get use to. And as to fans falling away when things turn sour is sad cos these are the times that fev could do with that extra support  Trust me I have followed Batley for 45yrs so I'm in the know.

We knew it would be different and not top 2/3 or even 4th but this team should be doing better then they are. Is it down to the coach ? Looks like it in many fans eyes but he's not missing tackles or dropping ball. Besides other teams have upped their game so it was never going to be easy. I've followed  Fev for 53 years and I've seen it all ( well not SL  😀 ). Just got to hope we can turn it round sooner rather then later.

Fev Rover i was going to pack it in after this season. Not because we are getting beat but because i don't agree with the IMG points scoring system. But although i will not be buying a membership i will attend when i think it will be a good game and not a formality either way.We have been well below the present standard before and going forward we need live within our budget and show a profit every season.so long as we don't get relegated and the players try i don't give. a fig for SL
