Makes perfect sense for Denver ( just about in the west of the US) to choose "a wild or half-tamed horse of the western US" as their mascot/brand.
But London? At least Brisbane has got the alliteration.
Yes, we've seen more dolphins in the Thames than broncos or mustangs but we've seen even more Boris bikes!
As for zoning in on where they are based in this vast capital, if they remain at Plough Lane they could become the Merton Marauders or the Merton Magicians ( actually, maybe not that one - ripe for all sorts of teasing).

If the price we had to pay for our resurgence is that our new benefactors want to restyle the club as, for example, the London Porpoises then that's a (wince) small price to pay, isn't it?
Wouldn't be so awful alongside tigers, dragon, warriors and wolves, leopards, giants and devils.
Perhaps our Australian benefactors could invite Mike's players out to Suttons Beach in Brisbane, pre season (for training porpoises only)

As of 07:25 am here in Sydney there is no news whatsoever on the "agreement" between the Dolphins and London Broncos. That is nit to say there will not ge an announcement but it may well stop short of outright ownership.

As for fantasy RL name changes  London Dolphins risks confusion with the best supported American Football club in the UK ,- Miami Dolphins. IIRC this was an issue when Redcliffe joined the NRL which is partly why they are The Dolphins and not Redcliffe Dolphins.

London Ravens is the name of a former British Ametican Football side that dominated rated the sport this side of the pond in thr 1980's.This side to my knowledge is now defunct so presumably no copyright issues.

Hmmm. I think the only sure thing now is Hetherington working 2 days a week. I'm a bit worried that the Dolphins link relates to the deal from January that Brisbane denied was happening and which ultimately led to nothing. Journos reheating an old story? Hope not.

...the irony is that we immediately rebranded with a new web address....www.londonbroncosrl.com. 

I am genuinely in awe as to had badly Hughes and MacKay butchered the club back then and can only hope that the 1st appointment made by this "alleged" new group is that of a seasoned and successful marketing person with a track record of growing crowds. Alas, if it is left to an Australian with little knowledge of London,  I fear we will be back to adverts in TNT magazine (as a contra deal) and 2-4-1- tickets in the Metro.

Its not particularly PC but they could go back to just being The Crusaders.... we could then have a cross code match between The Crusaders and Saracens... Its a marketeers dream! (and the police's nightmare!)

I played for a club called Woolgoolga Seahorses. Our home ground was nicknamed The Aquarium. Good times.

I've got to ask about the boxing gloves.... its an RL team and seahorses are hardly know for their.. well.. hands let along "boxing"... at least Kangaroos are known to box... and have "front paws" so boxing gloves arent so much of a stretch..
