I'm not saying it was in touch, but you're looking in the wrong place. Look under the Wire players thigh/knee, that's Makinson's green boot.

Oh my word you are spot on, I was looking in the wrong place. Well played Warrington by the way and commiserations to Saints who played there part in probably the best game of the season.

Just above the left knee of the Wire player you can see the boot down outside the field of play.

You are correct sir.

Fair play, Loiner.

I suppose one has to say well done to green-booted Makinson for getting the ball down and making the VR err towards giving it. It is easy to analyse and pick it apart in the cold light of day (and I do think the evidence is pretty clear) but the VR is in the heat of the moment.

Fortunately it didn't affect the outcome of what was an absorbing game.

I thought he was in touch.  But if the VR can't see it then the try remains.  Great game. Very exciting.  Shame it had to end with the anti climax of the golden point.  But them's the rules.

“Few thought him even a starter. There were many who thought themselves smarter. But he ended PM, CH and OM. An Earl and a Knight of the Garter.”

Agree on GP. I think 5 or 10 minutes each way, played all the way to the end with the chance for an equalising or go-ahead score would befit the knock-out stage.

I don't think it's right to say that GP was an anti-climax. In fact, it looked like one of the most exciting finishes we've ever seen in the playoffs, the atmosphere electric and brilliant tv.

I do understand that sometimes it's a bit frustrating that it becomes a dg comp, but this particular FP was pretty packed.

A penalty. Missed drop goal (heroic chargedown). A wild last tackle play by Saints, followed by an error. A calm set of 6 and great DG to win it.

I don't think anyone could accuse that finish of being an anti-climax.

I've always thought it should either be the first to score a try, It gets a bit farcical sometimes with rubbish DG attempts.

A replay on Tuesday night at Maine Road would have been more exciting.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

It may have already been touched upon (I've only read the first 15 pages), but why did Saints play Matuatia out of position. He was exposed all night and the decision to play him there was probably the difference between winning and losing.

Yes that would definitely tire the winning team out to benefit the other semi finalists.

Indeed. I do think it would be better for knock-out games though.

Do you want him to lie and pretend he was more excited than he was for the Salford-Leigh match?

No, just to say nearly everyone one else said it was a brilliant play off game and  could he not talk it up rather than being miserable. Pundits in other sports talk theirs up. Listen to the final whistle podcast for half an hour of appreciation from neutral fans.

Fair points. I think it is more a general point - at least mine was - that GP in play-offs is anti-climactic.

I think teams should get a right of reply.

Did he say it was a bad match? You just seem to be annoyed that he didn't love Leigh's match as much as he loved Wolves-Saints.

The Wolves-Saints match was more entertaining.

I’m talking about Wilkin’s comments both at half time and full time.

What was wrong with them in the Salford Leigh game.

If I hear Wilkin use the phrase 'Moment of Clarity' one more time when watching a slow-motion replay of a try, I'm asking Sky for some compensation.  And I don't even have a Sky account.

I am really pleased i went to the match it was a thriller with a cracking atmosphere which added to the occasion.
Warrington deserved the win they had pace out wide which we sadly lacked. I think most Saints fans even at 4-16 up knew that wouldn’t be enough, only the blinkered supporter thought that it was.
I am glad the season is over because that was one of the dullest i have seen. Im still amazed Saints gave Wellens another year he is out of his depth, his substitutions are shocking.
I am really looking forward to the Friday/Saturday games they should be edge of the seat stuff.
