Brookie Posted January 21 Posted January 21 You can see the game if you go to BFBS Forces news on YouTube. If you go to Portsmouth the admission is free 4
Peter Winthorpe Posted January 22 Posted January 22 We should be wary of another banana skin, with a potential good earner in the next road. The navy lads will a y followi g(be very fit, confident after an away win and have a good home navy following. Please don't underestimate them lads, UTT. 2
WTRLFC WEBSITE Posted January 22 Posted January 22 This game will be shown LIVE in the Northern Competitions marquee on Sunday, open from 1230. The game has brought with it many associated costs, we'd love to see a packed marquee with fans cheering us on and treating it like a home game. It's £5 for entry and a seat or £25 for a table of 6 and first regular drink. Kids free and don't need a ticket. www.townshop.co.uk to secure a table. Been a healthy response from our social media posts. Thank you to those who have supported us so far. Tokens will be issued at the 1945 Club reception and can be redeemed at the Tom Mitchell Lounge bar which will be in use whilst we carry out work on the Gus Risman Lounge. UTT 5

UTT With the high winds today is the marquee still ok , it's surely took a battering.
homeandawayer Posted January 24 Posted January 24 All the big guns are in this week. I'd probably start with Graham and Scholey and replace them with Reid and Barnes and revert Stephenson to second row. I'd be offering contracts to Fulton, Lupton and Long. 2

Bearintown Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Hope C Philips is going to be main hooker. Dont think Doran is suited there at all. Play him at loose or bench cover for hooker/half back? 3

IanMac Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Looking at the forecast down there for Sunday its not going to be pleasant, 50mph winds and rain. Safe travelling to the team and anybody making the trip. 1

WTRLFC WEBSITE Posted January 25 Posted January 25 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 Important update. - Unfortunately the Northern Competitions marquee has suffered significant damage after the storm on Friday & will be further assessed on Monday. Once we establish the damage we will request assistance so we can get it back to the wonderful venue & condition that our wonderful volunteers had it in before. So for now, It cannot be used for the Big screen showing of our game v Royal Navy Rugby League, however we will not be put off and have sourced extra TV's and a feature high quality and sizable TV and will still be showing the game 'Live' in the Tom Mitchell Hospitality Lounge. For those who have purchased tickets & tables, we would love to still see you at the Fibrus watching the game together, supporting your club and enjoying the game day vibe with your fellow Townies! Our game kicks off at 1pm, doors open 1230. Workington Town Women FC also play at home on Sunday, kick off 2pm so you'll be able to support one of our teams for their 2nd half as they look to maintain their good recent form! UTT 1

troutmaster Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Many thanks for the info on the game, Alot of people will probably come not knowing that the marquee is not in use at this moment. Here's hoping there will be enough room to accomodate supporters in the Tom Mitchell lounge. I am looking forward to Town winning the game and bringing the Leigh fans to the Fibrus stadium. UTT 3
The Voodooguru Posted January 26 Posted January 26 The club are having a real tough start to the season financially. All the travel and overnight stay costs for the challenge cup game, a damaged marquee from the storm, and if we beat dewsbury in the pointless 1895 cup another overnight stay in London. It makes todays game very important to secure the home fixture against Leigh and the benefit it will bring financially. UTT 3 The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!
dkw Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Looks a bit breezy and wet, hopefully we play the conditions better than last week. 2
The Voodooguru Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Good half from Town in awful conditions. Hard to put much together but getting the job done. 2 The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!
townie88 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 A day for up your jumper kinda rugby. On course to beat the handicap
dkw Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Good professional win in atrocious conditions, some excellent tries considering the weather, no points against, a couple of debuts and hopefully no injuries. Couldn't ask for more really. 3
Workington74 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Well done Town, good professional performance in difficult conditions 2
town2018 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Very good performance in awful conditions biggest part off that score is the zero points conceded the defence seems very strong this year was nice to see callum back playing hope he finds his best form again 1
homeandawayer Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Good defensive display getting piled in in numbers , it was nice to see some attacking play as well after last week. There's potential with the likes of Carter on the left , Hutton should get plenty, and Galea chiming in. I said Doran's not a hooker but he stepped up today. MOM was Scholey who tackled everything with intent for 60 minutes. 2
Peter Winthorpe Posted January 26 Posted January 26 A good professional coverage by the services team aided by our Calum. A great effort from our lads in the mud and gales, and some good rugby at times. Job done and we look forward to Leigh and hopefully a better score when we last welcomed them. I hope they travel in numbers to allow us to recoup the costs of todays game. UTT 4
Town Army Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Couldn't have gone any better. Good minutes in the legs for the 5 lads who were playing their first games also. Jake Carter will make a big difference to this team, a class act. Shout out to Levi Atiga, had a tough game last week but looked a lot better today, very strong with ball in hand. 4
wonky Posted January 26 Posted January 26 I thought 1-17 were great. The left side of Rio and Johnny looks really exciting, possibly need to see more from Will and Levi but that will come. Not sure what anyone's talking about Jamie not being a 9, all 3 games he's been one of our best players on each of them. He's like having another half back out there. I think Kieran proved he should edge it to partner Jake in the halves. The experience on the tougher games will be key. The whole pack were outstanding. Stevie, Cain, copper, guy, Jake, Noah, Jack were outstanding in very tough conditions. I honestly thought Stevie would struggle to get a game this year but he's proved me wrong in a big way. Tackling machine 5 the futures bright, the futures blue and white
