I would've commended fryston for a great score for an amateur club. But upon reading this thread clubs like this and the people who follow them need to be dealt with.We always try to put the game across as a family game, this latest incident doesn't help one bit.I wish Emerson a speedy recovery and I hope the rfl and the local leagues come down hard, the game doesn't need this.

They should press charges against the 11 (Steven Scott?).

Quoting the guy on the facebook thread : "  Fuk me listen right ye a feel for guy his jaw broke my actions wi knees was wrong but fukin hell it a 9 second video they started fight it shows tht it us so all ur comments fuk off wi em cos u no idea about it obviously who told ya ur 5 fans that was ther???.... he came in wi punches tht y he gt red card now bore the fuk off u dunt see us crying are player gt broke cheek bone in 3 places" and then "A dunt fight fir nothing ask ya son then he hit me first n u fuk off u ya boy looking he ran in throwing punches so and my career int fukd cos if nt on video ther nowt can do cos this ain't a proper recording a game so can not b used. Fuk all t do wi police it's on a field stuff happens but if wana go police and be grass that upto them in it I've apologised to his gf in a message so "

So basically it's okay because it's on the field and he apologised to the player's gf. Get him out of the game and in a jail cell.

Wow!

I think it's written in English, but not really in any form that I recognise...

He should face criminal charges for murdering the English language never mind the cowardly assault.

I think we're harsh on him. He's clearly an artist!

I mean he's going long ways to prove himself as subversive like "A dunt fight fir nothing". He's not even saving time writing that way. Or maybe translating the accent on paper? Aille donte noh!

its actually a very accurate representation the west Yorkshire dialect but in written form, rather like how Irvine welsh attempted to recreate the Edinburgh accent in the book Porno

Was at the game - obv supporting Keighley but to be fair at the point the brawl happened Fryston were in the accendance drawing 22 apiece and looking like the next team to score  so can't work out why they chose to close out the game like they did !

What happened after that was effectively a 2am Nightclub Brawl with the majority of the Fryston team segregating a member of the Cougar team on his own n to be fair battering him senseless..with some help off the Fryston Warriors bench ( was talking to a long standing Pennine League Club Official Stalwart just literally mins before this who couldn't understand how Fryston had so many 'bodies' on their bench )

Everyone knows the game is a physical one but this went way past this , but more galling is the response of the Fryston club through their social media channels and through the responses of their players and supporters on Facebook n the like , who saw the beating that occured n the subsequent abuse of the Keighley Players Family as just part of the game n chose to respond to criticism with shall we say 'industrial language ' and the usual s**** of 'its a mans game' . erm yes if you are stuck in the era of 'this sporting life ' , at that point b***er off home, shout at the wife cause your teas not ready and kick the dog..... so sad really

Amateur Rugby League have always been spineless at dealing with thugs. Some sort of misplaced "it's a man's game" ethos to protect the thugs egged on by a minority of moronic spectators. It's not exactly going to encourage many to play our game.

That's a sweeping statement. Different leagues deal with things differently, some Amatuer leagues could do with some improvement

I'd say the disciplinary process with the NCL is very good and could teach the Pro game a thing or two

RL is the toughest team sport in the world , but imo theres an honest toughness to it (if that makes sense) in 99% of the time.

A small number of thugs do not represent the game.

At the highest level (super league) young man literally break there bodies for the sporting equivalent of minimum wages , that represents RL not them.

Completely agree , but RL has a small faction of amateur clubs ,all within the traditional M62 corridor that everyone knows , have a reputation for thuggery that no one seems to be able to get a handle on ,

Ive watched southern n University teams the last couple of years that quite happily i know i can watch when the result will be the team who plays the best rugby league , not those who have the most violent individuals ..

surely the police are involved irrespective of any RL authority.

on that note if anyone wants to report incident/complain to the police or at least post the video then the contact email for the local police is.

castleford@westyorkshire.pnn.police.uk

Looking at the video it would seem to be assault whether on the pitch or not is

Wouldn't count on that.  Whether there is enough clear camera evidence will be one area they need to be certain of before/if they proceed.  Having said that, did the Police get called to the game or did they remain sat at their screens watching traffic?

Yep, although no reason why they shouldn't investigate and then as you say that may be the outcome... then again the witness statements and any other evidence may bring a different conclusion.
