Rogue One then Star Wars (A New Hope) is best I think for plot continuity.

I enjoyed Solo but I’m not sure it’s critical to the timeline.

On seconds thoughts maybe it would make a nice change of pace.

I decided to watch Solo next, for the sake of completism.

Second time I've seen it and I enjoyed it more than the  first, probably because I was paying more attention to what was going on.

The first time round, I saw it in a 4DX cinema purely for the novelty value, and while it was all very entertaining being jolted around in my seat and having water sprayed in my face etc, it was also quite distracting.

Rogue One next...

Finally saw the one Star Wars film I never got around to watching last night. SOLO: A STAR WARS MOVIE.

Well, don't leave us twisting in the wind, then! Any good?

And have you seen the Star Wars Holiday Special? That's the mark of the dedicated completist/masochist. The day after it was shown, the Jonestown Massacre happened and nobody's ever conclusively proved that it wasn't that broadcast that pushed the Reverend Jim over the edge.

Yes for Star Wars fans, it is pretty good, fills a few plot holes from epIV-VI, but so does Rogue One.

I want to place Rogue One before A New Hope, and Solo after A New Hope.

Solo, Rogue One, New Hope surely?

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Too soon?

At least Michael Bay isn't actually directing it.

The kid who played the title character was making his film debut and it looked like he had been acting for a long time

Genuinely talented child stars who can really act are few and far between, and should be appreciated. The little girl in Pan's Labyrinth is another. Too often they just look vaguely endearing and act vaguely annoying.

Watching Peter Sellers in A Shot in the Dark, as Inspector Clouseau with my 12 year old daughter, she has fallen on the floor twice, laughing, at the bumbling idiot.

My favourite Clouseau movie. The high points are less outrageous than some of the other films, but there are far fewer weak/padded sections than the others. Plus it has Elke Sommer in it.

Andre Meranne, Dreyfus's sidekick, is still with us. His voice is so recognisable that he was in a 1990s radio thing being repeated on Four Extra and I instantly knew who it was.
