The only way I can interpret this is Sinfield has flown him out when Bennett didnt think it necessary, so Bennett isn't picking him.

More or less what I’ve suggested.

WB quoted today about the next two years - he may not be standing down after all.

Who actually sent for Handley? Bennett, Sinfield or maybe Jamie Peacock. Isn't he the Tour Manager, or a joint decision? You have to feel sorry for Handley, over there for the 9s, back here then over there again at short notice, and then not selected. It seems like a total fiasco.

At least he’ll be closer to Konnie Hurrel.  He’s sure to offload him a beer or two and offload a meal plus, see a bit of the world to boot.

Risky , he’s 50/50 to drop them

With Alex Johnston, David Mead, Edene Gebbe and Justim Olam, PNG have arguably better outside backs than GB

It would be a master debater who could convince me Austin - Connor - Hughes - McGilvary are better than them.

At least there is one sane comment... well 2 if you count mine.  The moot point is whether we should have changed our half back - hooker combinations.  Perversely, is we had been winning then we might have made some changes this weekend to have a chance at looking at that.  Perhaps that is why Trueman was there.

I don't agree with the general selections of the team.  I would not have taken Coote or Trueman. Not sure who as alternatives.  But I would have started with Widdop fullback and the halves as Hastings and Williams.  But not having started at that I can see why we have only made enforced changes.

But frankly our whole game our fundimentals here in our country are wrong.  All the moaning is just fiddling with Titanic deck chairs.

So you think it is fine that Ash Handley was flown to Australia to play in the 9s tournament, flown back to England, only to be flown back to PNG a couple of weeks later and then not picked so Blake Austin could play on the wing instead? And you're sane you say. Interesting.

That's nothing to do with the coach or selectors.  Its to do with the Mickey Mouse nature of the 9s tournament and the IRL. If another threequarter gets injured on the captain's run then he might end up in the squad.

We have looked a far better team with Clark at 9 so obviously Bennett drops him.

I can see PNG turning us over

Uninspiring . And 3 props on the bench sums things up . I thought Austin may be in the middle , which would have let Handley play . Clark should feature as well . PNG should pick a good goakicker

They’ve got one of the best goal kickers in the game with Rhys Martin
