Good news - a definite step in the right direction. I know that Wales are stuck into discussions, and have been for a while now, regarding their fixture.

Looks like England v Exiles is pretty much locked in.

Wales v France, Scotland v Ireland would make sense too. Perhaps Greece v Italy.

Canada v Jamaica?

Jamaica v Wales seems to have been regularly touted.

It needs to be England v Australia Exiles to give the game some rivalry amongst the players and fans

Good for those nations playing Internationals. Shame England would rather have an exhibition game instead of playing a proper game. 

One of the nations looks like they’ll miss the opportunity to play though. England are playing their anti-International and that leaves Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France and Jamaica that can name seventeen man squads rather easily in the UK, I wonder if the England Knights will play Jamaica or Jamaica will not have a game.

I imagine we’ll see the Knights play one of Scotland or Ireland.

The way things are going we might not get Leigh v Wigan in the same tier , let alone 2 countries ?

Because the international game should not be seen as a step down to the club game, which this would directly show it is.

Yes it’d be worth ruling out the odd few players to have a game with some genuine rivalry. Although Hurrell could qualify for the Australian Exiles on residency having lived there for 3+ years.

So if you’re allowing Hurrell on residency rules, you may as well just go with the awful Exiles idea.

And players that were eligible for those nations but playing in the Cup would pick the Challenge Cup over playing for their country which would make the international game seem even more amateur.

The point is if the game is some form of England v Australia contest, it’ll give some meaning to fans, whereas England v Exiles was like an exhibition game.

England vs blokes not good for Australia and some other fellas what once lived in Australia is equally as bad as the Exiles.

But playing the Exiles means the NRL clubs don’t have to release their England players.

Hopefully this becomes a permanent part of the season and hopefully England’s arrogant approach to International Rugby is squashed, though that’s unlikely. Hopefully, the weekend could be a part of a tournament as the rep weekend is down under with the Oceania Cup.

Luck shouldn't have anything to do with it it should be a requirement of all contracts that rep footy comes first.
