He was only 21 when he left Saints after making 40 appearances.

He scored 9 tries in his only season at Warrington and was offered a deal at Brisbane, where he suffered a serious injury in preseason, calling him a flop is ridiculous & petty,at 26 he should be in his prime and has looked in good form at Hull.

He could have stayed at Brisbane and fight to gain a 1st team place, but as usual when the going got tough he walked away to find an easier option.

to be fair, its not uncommon in a lot of sports for people to really struggle when they move quite a way away from home and then get an early injury. They are very much on the outside of the group that should be making them welcome (which is natural) and can really struggle to feel a part of the one thing that would make them feel "at home". It is very common, not just for English lads going to the NRL, that an early injury often sees people "go home".

not saying he didnt "bottle it" but just that, without knowing him personally, you are making some very harsh calls on someone who has done something not uncommon in many sports.

It must be exhausting for you carrying all that hate & bitterness around.

After spending a year in rehab, then to be told your not in the new coaches plans,it’s understandable he accepted a 3 year contract to move back home in an attempt to get his career back on track, something he looks to be doing at Hull.

He shouldn't have been so arrogant all through his younger years.

He showed promise as a youngster but his illness stifled his progress for a while. Despite being out of the game for a considerable time Saints stood by him and even offered him an improved contract when he asked for it. He started playing again and almost immediately demanded a massively improved contract saying if he didn't get one he would leave as he was good enough for the NRL. At the time he made numerous comments about how he would go to the NRL as that was always his long term ambition.

When Saints refused to give him the big contract he wanted he suddenly found out he wasn't as good as he thought as nobody in the NRL wanted him, which is why he ended up at Warrington. He tried again a year later and Brisbane were the only club offering him a deal. Despite getting through rehab and being available Brisbane decided he wasn't good enough and told him he could leave and no other NRL club wanted him either, which is how he then ended up back in SL with Hull.

All through his career he's demanded big contracts but he's so far proved nothing at any of the clubs he's been at. He may turn it around and be a success at Hull in the future, but as things stand at the moment he's not really achieved anything, and at 26 time is running out for him to prove he's as good as he has always told people he thinks he is.

Surely in any job you try and get the best salary you can - good luck to him

At 26 he is now at the top of his game and injury free

It's a crying shame that supporters continually undermine our players who devout 16 to 20 years of their lives to playing the game at a top level.

So, it is far from unreasonable for super league players to earn £100,000 a year

Didn’t his dad play for Workington town?

Yes his dad Lokeni (Luke) played for Town in the early 00s. Young Andre could regularly be seen running around the Derwent Lounge causing havoc after matches, he was a very boisterous kid.

I’m not prejudiced, I hate everybody equally

Self-awareness isn't a strong point of yours is it.

That’s a line you could and paste a hundred times...

Meanwhile, he has looked superb. I still think Knowles, Currie and Bateman (with maybe Whitehead as interchange) would be ahead of him, but he has real talent.

Can you tell us how you know these details please?

To be able to make these claims you must surely have been sat at the table when his contract was renegotiated.

Failing that you may have spoken to someone who was and, of course, you may have heard a rather different version than what actually happened.

I doubt you've read it in the press as it would be easy for Savelio to take legal action if it wasn't true.

Or perhaps you're Eamon McManus?

Through a family member who's a close personal friend of a Saints Board member, who was involved in those negotiations.

And before you ask no I wont reveal who that board member is, and no they didn't actually reveal the intimate details of the contract negotiations, just a summary of the situation and the behavior of Savelio & his manager.
