Forward.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

French has no confidence in Bibby's ability to defend against Hurrell. Not sure why Bateman isn't defending on the left edge instead of Bibby.

Tommy "If I'd have tackled him he'd have known about it".

Tommy protesting his innocence to the ref there "if I'd tackled him you'd know about it!" He's not wrong is he?

"it is a well known fact that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it."

I don't see it as bad positioning as such from French but that Hurrel is far to big and strong for his centre to tackle one on one.

You either stay out and let Hurrel steamroll Bibby or cut in and help out leaking Makinson open.

Think the scoreline flatters Wigan ATM, Saints have been unlucky (but correct decision). They're finding it miles easier to break Wigan down than vice versa

Haha, did Tommy Leuluai just respond to being penalised for tackling a runner off the ball by saying ''If I'd tackled him he'd have known about it!''?

What a resolute, tough, committed little player who smashes anything that moves. I love his attitude. It was a penalty though!

Really fun and entertaining first 40 with both team having a good go. I think Saints were really beginning to get on top in that last 10-15 minutes. Hope Wigan can hose some biscuits and oranges into themselves and come out bounding for the second stanza!

Good call. They should switch them around.

I know it’s the derby and who knows what can happen etc, but I am not sure anyone doubts how this is going to play out. With a consolation try at the end, we will lose by around 14 points. There is a gulf between the 2 sides in terms of ability to execute a game plan. I hope that we don’t completely collapse, but that is always a possibility.

Looking to the years, ahead, we are pretty much all in on Havard, Byrne and Smithies becoming effective at this level. We also need to get a 9 that runs with the ball. It’s not the time to mention it, as Field has been and continues to be so good, but I would like to see 1 French, 6 Field, 7 Leuluai, 9 Cust. As we have zero running threat from acting half, defences can get set for the runners and drift across to make easy tackles out wide.

I think we can be competitive against the other sides, but we could make more of the resources we have available to us.

Both tries were bad positioning regardless. The second try in particular there was absolutely no threat and absolutely no need for French to step inside as he did.

French has played all his best rugby for Wigan at full back and he is no where near as good on the wing. His defence and positioning on the wing have always been average.

We have no Knowles though - being one sub down can cost you late in terms of energy.

But you are winning the penalty/set restarts which have a bigger impact
