There must be a significant lebanese commnity that we dont know about in the Sale/Carrington area.

This match must surely be played in colwyn bay

There is a significant Lebanese community in GM, however to what extent they’ve been engaged is another issue

Who else impressed?

Kyle Evans took his try well on debut. Curtis Davies excellent as well in scoring a brace.

For Lebanon the the backrower Maree looks good considering he’s played tier 4 rugby league in Australia - didn’t look out of place. Mansour classy touches, Kiraz is going to be some player too - looked every bit an NRL player.

Why was it at Swinton?

I would have done what Australia did with PNG in the last world cup and had all of the Wales games in Wales, friendlies included.

This WC received money from the government to stage the majority of the matches in the north of England. Playing games in Wales or France was never an option although there was nothing to stop Wales hosting a warm up game.

They didn't have to have as many matches in the north of England as they are though.

Yes they did as far as I’m aware. Northern Powerhouse BS and all.

We had to stage around 3/4 of the games within the Northern Powerhouse region. It's a big region and includes north Wales.

We're staging all of the games bar one men's semi final and some wheelchair prelims within the region, mostly in a very tight section of it.

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. (Terry Pratchett)

There is a game at Coventry also, albeit just one so the point still stands.

How close to full strength were Wales?

Define full strength?

Based on the squad named, all were available and played.

Based on who is eligible and played RL this season they were weakened by the following absences:

- Morgan Knowles

- Tyson Frizell

- Regan Grace

- Bradman Best

- Gil Dudson

Is Dudson like Flower and never puts his hand up for Wales?
