IMG - Vote on Wednesday

I think it will depend on what the fan survey says and it will probably be voted down by the majority of clubs.

We shouldn't even be letting the clubs vote imo. They've shown time and time again that they only vote in self-interest and not for the good of the game overall.

Catalans are one of the top teams in SL now. So yes, it did.

So the introduction of Catalans that had nothing whatsoever to do with licensing is the basis for you believing licensing was a success?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Perhaps we should just base it in France then!!

I'm trying to work out how a 2x10 structure brings the casual UK sport's fan into RL. How does it promote a more geographically diverse sport?

It just seems like as long as individual clubs can decide the destiny and strategic direction of the whole sport, opportunities for growth and change are going to be limitedĀ

Bring in London, Newcastle and some others into your 20 teams.

2 x 10 would be a disaster might as well go to 14 now.

Ā

My prediction

* 14 teamsĀ

* Toulouse stay in

* Winners of Championship up obviouslyĀ

* London Broncos back inĀ

PĀ

Pretty sure whatever they propose is for 2024, not next year.

Geographically diverse.....fair enough but focus on new areas and not ones where the experiment has been an abject failure in the past.Ā

If not the clubs, who should decide? A company whose only interest is to make money?

If they go to 14 that“s two promotion places and Toulouse are definitely going to finish in the top two next season.  Two 10“s would have to be franchising or what is the point, IMG are really going to lock London out because they finish 11th in a championship? Nope.

Like Oldham, do you mean?

A company whose only interest is making money would be an excellent guide on what should be done to make money.

Completely agree in terms of making money. However, it doesn't make them best placed to make decisions in the overall best interests of the game. Their own profit will always come first.

It is, but the objective isn't to make money at any costs. It has constraints.Ā

Otherwise, we could see RL and RU reunify for example.

Not referring to Oldham here and never referenced them. We are out of the equation and may well not exist in a year or two. However, if you really want to talk about the past? How many titles? Challenge Cup wins? The actual point was that we've tried to spread the game previously.....great, I'm on board with that. However, in certain locations it just hasn't worked. Therefore, perhaps if 'forcing' a more geographical diverse competition (not earned on the the pitch) we should look to new places. Please feel free to discuss.

Oldham are in many ways a perfect example with the problem our game has. A club who really should be chugging along nicely at champ level pulling in 1500 and a nice holding pen and pathway for players is, because of a lack of infrastructure in terms of even a modest 3k stadium (like Rochdale), basically on life support.
