I hope people don't mind me piggybacking on to this thread.....

I'm doing a series of cycle rides to various RL venues to raise funds for MNDA.

I cycled to Thatto Heath for the Challenge Cup

I've cycled to Rochdale Hornets for the League 1 game v North Wales Crusaders on 7th May from North Wales

On 21st May I'm cycling from North Wales to Birmingham for our game vs Midlands Hurricanes. The 'Canes social media is promoting the ride and there will be a MNDA buclet collection at the game.

On 23rd May I set of to ride to Cornwall RLFC for our game on 28th May.

With Midlands Hurricanes comfortable in mid table and North Wales Crusaders yet to register a win, this game should be an opportunity for us to confirm a change in the pecking order of expansion sides in League 1. Another home defeat to our friendly rivals will be dispiriting for supporters who judge our progress relative to their successes in the division.

You could be right, but my interpretation of NWC's season so far is that they've had a tough set of fixtures.

I note that NWC's six matches (six losses) have been against the top six teams. Your two wins have been against Cornwall and Skolars, who NWC haven't played yet. Some of their defeats have been quite close and they have only had two home matches so far.

It will be interesting to see how they match up against each other.

Cornwall's first half showing against Hunslet was really encouraging. If we can maintain intensity for a little longer I really do think we can leave Rochdale with 2 points. I don't imagine anyone else thinks it, but past results suggests there isn't as much between them as some reckon.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Bet 365 are offering 25/1 for a Skolars win. If you're serious get your money on now. Worth a tenner?

If you're feeling a little more cautious then definitely go for Skolars with 40.

It’s a very long road for Cornwall (Hornets had to negotiate the journey to London + traffic nightmares last week).

Assuming they arrived early this morning for the 1pm ko, it will be very tough.

ht. Hornets 34  Cornwall  0.

Sorry mate 62 -6…..you scored the last try!     Safe travel for even longer return!

Brave call with the draw. What's the lottery numbers this week?

Ha ha. I've been at York v Broncos this afternoon and hadn't seen any League 1 scores til I saw your post.

I wouldn't put any money on my predictions - even a stopped clock is right twice a day!

I also support Leeds United so you can imagine how I'm feeling on the journey home.

It's tempting to draw comparisons between the two teams but I'm not sure they're failing for the same reasons. Hurricanes today seemed to be lacking energy and commitment and Crusaders brought their A-game which saw them demolish any hope the fans held that another home win was on the cards.

We had been getting closer to North Wales but we're miles behind on this showing.
