Thought first half was almost a good performance and we made loads of chances but we just didn't take them. We were obviously trying to move the ball a lot more and the left edge looked really dangerous. Second half was very sloppy and we were lucky to get the win.

Wilkinson was outstanding in an 80 minute effort along with Rawsthorne who has sneakily become one of our best players. Moran was fantastic off the bench again as usual.

Thought Rochdale were good and had the two outstanding players on the pitch in Tyrer and O Keefe along with Wilky.

I thought our left edge really struggled both sides of the ball.

In their defence they lacked experience.

Right edge again strong.

Cameron excellent for me. Couple of try savers from him late on.

O’Keefe was excellent. Overall, Rochdale have improved massively from Easter. However, at this stage of the season a wins a win

Improvement yet to be reflected in the win column. Barring a miracle (London beating Cru away) its a season without play offs, and the first time we have gone through a season winless against Yorks, Lancs and Cumbria opposition. Thank heavens for expansion!

Even if the miracle was to happen, no team with a 7 wins and 11 losses record (which is what we would need) should be in the play offs with a chance of playing in a higher level of rugby

Good luck for the rest of season and play offs…your new broom needs to be sweeping clean in the championship…not the rugby league graveyard.

Maybe we could invite you lot to a tenth anniversary celebration of THAT play off final next month!  You could dress up in ‘hairnets’!

Some memories never grow old😂

Until the next time…..

Fordy with jack dearden on the radio made a very telling point. We've had 3 games in the last five weeks. You can train all the attacking and defensive sets you want but there's no experience better than actual games. We've got at least one game a week now and we will be sharper.

Funny how people have different perceptions. I thought that we tried to move the ball too soon, and did not ask any questions of their defence in the middle first, then earning the right to go lateral.

As mentioned by a few on the squad thread , thought Kieran Tyrer looked out of his depth again today . Wilky sets his effort levels around expecting to play 45=50 minutes for Slater to then come on and do what he does best . In the end Tyrer was hooked , Wilky had to go 80 and Slater had to replace Tyrer ,this improved us as Slater looked dangerous at half but it's not the best use of him .
McNally then got injured which led to Slater first going from left half back to full back then to right half back , as Tyrer had to come back on for McNally .
Thankfully Paga is back now which leaves Wilky and Slater to play their normal roles , however with McNally injured either Tyrer or Paga will have to go to full back , unless Ellis is fit in which case leave out Tyrer for Paga .

Totally agree with this statement, plenty blown opportunities but we wasn’t at the races today but with out playing much in the last few weeks it was always going to happen, we looked rusty.

wilkinson and Rathsthorne level above for us today, both outstanding and deserve a lot of credit.

What happened to Ah Van. In the 21 but not included in final team. He is a player we desperately need in our team for the play offs

Agree we missed Ah Van on the wing today, great player.

A poor performance overall but we came away with a win. Agree that we tried to play too lateral too early without earning the right through hard yards down the middle. A good attendance & it was good to see so many Oldham kids who wanted to interact with Roary.

The down side was an Oldham idiot shouting & swearing throughout the game berating Ridyard, Hawesthorne & Ford who couldn’t string a sentence together without swearing every 2nd word - totally unnecessary.

It might not have been the greatest spectacle at times but it was a proper local derby with two sides going toe to toe. A draw would probably have been a fair result but all credit to the players for never giving up.

Hornets looking to welcome you the ‘house of pain’.

Anita.

A 'Pain in your House', you say ?

Under the circumstances, may I suggest that you take two Aspirins and lie-down in a darkened room.

Until next season.  🤣 🤣

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
