Surely Bell lost that into a Leigh man in the initial contact

He wasn't asked to check that - not sure of the current guidelines on if they can rule of things they aren't asked to?

leafy suburb of St Helens .

Certainly an absurd concept.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

The VR overruled Kendall when he went up to check the merits of a penalty try. i.e he overturned a penalty.

The VR did look at it and said 'it went backwards in relation to the ground'. Which is true, but only after it ricocheted into a Leigh man

Funny old do, this. In one sense, the final score seems to represent the territorial dominance of Saints. On the other hand, it’s a misleading margin because Saints have really struggled to score - two tries from very scratchy circumstances and one from a Percival bit of brilliance. Only the Lomax try looked worked. Whereas Leigh look much more effective and structured when attacking.

On the other hand, dominating territory to this extent without two biggest forwards is pretty impressive

For all the niggle and the debatable calls both ways, I must say these kind of games give me great pleasure. There is no greater compliment a promoted side can get than one of the 'big boys' being so rattled and emotionally invested in a game against you. We're no longer cannon fodder but a genuine threat.

That’s true, and it’s remarkable that Saints are managing that middle dominance without those big guys. But Saints fans have been noting the lack of an attacking/organising half. Imagine this Saints side with Lam as their halfback?

So why are we unable to market this sport?

Good game, brutal defence from both sides.

Thought the call on the Briscoe disallowed try was absolutely awful though. Really key decision and he got it so wrong.

Not to give the try was fine as Mellor clearly touched it but the Sts player (Bell?) Blatantly lost the ball into the Leigh man in the initial contact.

Should have been leigh ball 30 yards or so out, instead Saints camped on our line again and that was the end of it.

Very enjoyable match but a few key decisions at the back end felt more than a little unfair.

Proud of the Leythers on that display. Congrats to Saints. A cracking game of RL all around.

Pleased with that. Back to matching intensity without our most creative and inspirational pivot on the pitch. We deserve 4th. Don’t #### it up !

Two very fortunate tries for Saints ( the last was never a try) an the kick MBye was offside IMHO, but the Leigh disallowed try was harsh when there was already a Saints knock on an they played advantage.

Great game. Great atmosphere and let’s hope we are in the mix because let’s be honest, if Leigh had the possession and the territory Saints had, the score line would be overloaded.

Saints are a very possession, conservative minded side now, but well done !

It was to hard for Saint Jack, very noticeable when the going gets tough Jack gets going, usually in the opposite direction.

Big Tom smashed him first five minutes. After that, he became the Chicago Bears quarterback !!

He is another Jake Connor but Younger and probably less frustrating!

I will be honest, both your half’s are gash !

Roby is better than both Dodd and Lomax combined !

Good luck in the playoffs. I think you will make it 5/5 due to experience but you desperately need a 6 and 7.
