I don't know what Ipape could really do, playing it right on the line.

I suppose by the letter of the law that he does impede a defender but it's a rather unfortunate series of decisions for poor Leigh.

He is supposed to stand still if moving forward would cause an obstruction, its not complicated. Don't obstruct the opposition, his doing so caused the Leigh try to be disallowed, thought he was being smart but was being really dumb.

Charnley has been really solid for Leigh. They'd be further behind without his efforts.

Great to see him in down the left flank to get them on the board.

Not moving forward into the defender would help, but even if he'd stayed still it's still obstruction. The onus is on Mellor not to go through the man playing the ball to score the try as it means the defence can't possibly tackle him. He has to go around Ipape.

Its clear obstruction, you can’t take the marker out and mellor also touched ipape whilst trying to ground the ball.

Last year they awarded a ver similarity Harry Newman try totally incorrectly they got this one correct.

Although, I will grant that as a sport we don't necessarily take the laws seriously when it comes to refereeing the game.

   I thought Walker made an obstruction look like an accidental collision.Penalty to Leigh for me.
