Sad state of affairs . Clubs go and with them fans go , volunteers go , players go and the game gets a bit smaller . As for our league now , god knows .

I'm not sure this will bother the RFL, they can put a bit of extra cash in to clubs in London and further down south. Thunder done a great job in getting all the amateur sides going in the north east and supporting all the clubs youth teams also, a guy called Jordan Robinson who was a great guy pushing the Thunder both in the North East and Cumbria, sadly he has been informed earlier today along with everyone else that he is now redundant, been with them 10 years. so sad.

Really have they done a good job at Newcastle, how many times have they reinvented themselves? I think it's disgraceful the way RL heartland clubs such as Town, Rochdale, Oldham, Hunslet are being treated.

Agree it’s got to be play everybody 4 times for League 1 next season. The proposed reorganisation for 2025 season must be set out before the 2024 season starts so that all teams in the Championship & League 1 know what the outcome of their finishing positions will be.

Would have been better if the top 8 in champ did that.

As they get more cash and all roughly similar standard and those games should make them better and more ready for SG

Leaving the bottom 6 and L1 8 - in a 14 team league .

Yep it was 6 times.....................4 league matches, plus Lancs cup and Challenge cup both at home.

So six with only one win (Challenge cup tie).........happy days.

Move a few teams up ,Make super league bigger, then one big league under super league how it was years ago before they started changing everything to suit the big clubs.more games and comps to watch years ago,league games, challenge cup,county cups,John player trophy, Australia tours who played all over the North good day's

What we did say was that we are tired of the constant chopping and changing to the structure. We said to look at football and the pyramid system they have and that every team in the country from grass roots upwards should have the opportunity to progress with the caveat that promotion to a higher division should be with minimum standards.

We said the Championship had been a great league this season but we recognised that League One was broken and suggested that some top conference sides might be invited to take their chances. There was also a suggestion that Wigan, St.Helens and Hull might enter B teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona in Spanish football.

We have since written to the CEO and suggested an interim season of one division with a view to a 12 team Championship in 2025 and 10 team League One but with the mission to get two extra teams to also take League One to 12 teams.

The one division of 22 teams would be play each other once and 5 loop fixtures to ensure the 13 home games that we are selling season tickets for. Top 6 play-offs. top 11 in the Championship for 2025 and a play-off for the remaining place for teams 12th to 17th. That should keep an interest for most right to the end of the season.

I think thats a very sensible statement from the Barrow chairman, I would be wary of the B teams idea though, as it would become very messy, those B teams could be changing massively every week.

I would much prefer his second idea of a one off 22 team league, then the season after can be a true representation of the state of the teams, with the split being a natural one based on final positions.

Still not a single thing said by the RFL, complete disregard for the future of the 8 clubs in L1, almost bordering on contempt. Absolutely disgusting.

I said in another thread that there seems to be a total news blackout. Sounds like nothing is resolved. I also think the ridiculous idea to start a new Newcastle club from scratch had thrown a spanner in the works.

Reported on the Rochdale forum that there are 5 scenarios under consideration. One is 4 SL reserves to join L1. 
I despair the mentality of the people running the game.

That really would end up stupidly messy, those reserve squads would be hugely inconsistent. Only chance for it to work is a nlset squad they have to pick from, with only changes allowed in line with the rest of us.
