I think I understood about 50% of this post.

Tickets booked, Vegas will be expensive but it doesn't have to break the bank, we booked the hotel a few weeks ago, 3 people for a suite in the Venetian, 5 nights less than £1,400.

If you've never been to Vegas before it doesn't fail to inspire and disappoint on the same level. Think Blackpool on steroids and you're not far off.

This is HUGE news! Perhaps the biggest SL story of the decade! It will open so many doors. Breathtaking!

I am all for this Vegas game and think it will be great. Its certainly the biggest game since the Nou Camp game. I'm intrigued though as to what doors you will think it will open for SL?

Bar a major fluke it will take far more than 1 game in Vegas. I've not noticed anything with the NRL and its noticeable how much the hyperbole has died down and how quickly the event has pivoted. Indeed many clubs didn't even want to play in it this year.

Don't forget the 50 dollar resort fees per nigh.

The two questions that come to mind are:

How many away fans will they bring?

And how many pints and pies will the English teams be able to sell?

What happens to the WCC if any of these teams win their respective championship?

I did see that, but it doesn't answer the question about what happens if a Las Vegas team also qualifies for the WCC. I'm guessing they'll just take the highest finisher in each league who hasn't qualified for Las Vegas which likely guarantees St Helens vs a random NRL team.

I expect only one of two scenarios:

1. WCC played the week before; or the more likely

2. no WCC for 2025

Does this all set 2026 up for a 32 team World Club 9’s over two/three days?

Now that would be awesome!!!!! 🤩

It would be a RL bombardment of fans like no other, of similar proportions to the bombardment of Hull during the war.

Yeah. My post didn't work out so well.

I had just read a load of hyperbolic but essentially empty words from Radlinksi and Fitzpatrick and was just channeling them in a sarcastic way (though I do think Vegas is an OK development).

Now I have 2 undeserved likes and I'm not sure what to do next. Do I resign from the forum?

Interesting:

Just trying to get my head around this. First of all, it's fantastic 2 British teams are going to be a part of this and pleased to see the women's game added...even if an international fixture does seem a bit odd when all the rest are club games. But that tweet, suggesting this was achieved off the clubs involved own steam, seems crazy and has me posing plenty of Qs.

- Why weren't SL/RFL/IMG involved in this?

- Who provided 'sign off' for adding a SL fixture to what is an NRL event?

- Is this an indication of NRL involvement in SL, even if not yet a takeover?

There are more Qs but that'll do for a start.

Do all clubs get to pick when and where their home games are played against specific opponents?

Do Wigan (and Wire) hold all the risk and get all the reward from his venture?

I was in Vegas in April for work.

Did one trip to the hotel casino, every hotel has a casino, or should I say every casino is a hotel.

Anyway went through my designated spending money in about 30 minutes... headed over to the cash machine in the lobby and one of the 'suggested' amounts to withdraw was $3,000!

You can blow a lot of money in a very short amount of time in Vegas, maybe staying in the ground for 4 games is a good idea.

That’s a long day of rugby league. I’m thinking of going to watch the Raiders and if I do I think I’ll only watch the SL and the Raiders match.

I wonder how they’ll present all the official SL pitch and pitch side sponsorship and switch it over to the NRL sponsors between games.

You can achieve pitch sponsorship through CGI if needed - it’s done frequently in SL where pitches are shared and don’t want a load of paint on the grass. Easy enough then to switch between NRL SL & International. Pitch side agin electronic boards will just switch between them

The NRL seems to have given up any pretence that this is about anything other than tourism but I’m sure it will be a fantastic trip for those who make it.

This could be quite a special occasion for everyone involved including the players, staff and fans.

There is also the potential new audience it could reach in North America

I'm still undecided as to whether to go or not as I don't gamble.
