This could be quite a special occasion for everyone involved including the players, staff and fans.

There is also the potential new audience it could reach in North America

I'm still undecided as to whether to go or not as I don't gamble.

I bet you do.

NRL losing faith and hoping English fans trek over to fill out the stadium? Funny that they are going to use the SL and England to bolster the event when they've been damaging and minimising the international game for a long time. SL clubs are being used here as a very minor partner, and what we see is the NRL muscling in on the running of the English game. Those at Wigan and Wire should be careful as to what they are furthering.

NRL in Vegas doesn't do anything for international footy. There should be two international windows, rather than one post-season month where players are going to be injured and half-hearted. If Tonga and Samoa were playing a test match in America, that would genuinely be big for the game internationally.

Hope those who go have a good time, but I am not a fan of this American folly.

I think 3 or 5 would be prime.

Are the Poms still trotting out this delusional talking point? The NRL and Australian RL as a whole has done more for the international game than anyone. Also, I don't think anyone has said that this is about growing the international game. It's quite clearly about gambling and tourism.

Last year's Vegas launch completely overshadowed the AFL season launch here and that is another reason it's being done.

We're hearing teams in the USA are starting up off the back of the events around the Vegas games.

Adding the English teams  plus  the Warriors to the occasion, increases the appeal of our  game. I am sure the Yanks would have thought that the game was confined to  Aussie and take notice that unlike GI,League is played in many countries.

I think doing away with the mid-season tests and reducing it to a post-season jolly negates the good they may have done.

Wire and Wigan tumbling into bed with the NRL above the RFL could be a harbinger of future developments.

Not necessarily a bad thing since what the UK game has become since the disastrous administrations of Wood and Rimmer.

It's telling that the 2 sides did this off their own back rather than SL do anything (who consequently are trying to sell this as a SL initiative!)

I do think it casts a troubling spectre over the running of British RL, but I can understand the criticisms of senior administrators in the UK.

They've done a lot to the international game, I think "for" is the wrong word for it.

Ah, that's more like it.

So can clubs now ride roughshod over the governing body (no matter what you think of them) and organise games where and when they like?

Wigan and Warrington approached the NRL to be involved this year, not the other way round.

Wigan approached the NRL last year to play the WCC v Penrith in Vegas, but there wasn't time to arrange it.

No, it has been done with full consultation with and support from SL.

I'm going to Las Vegas in November, so I'm going to make a point of looking out for any promotional stuff for this event. A great development IMO and RL has definitely missed the gung ho "next stop Barcelona" attitude of the earlier Super League years.

Great to see someone taking the initiative.

Suspect they will launch the PR campaign in January, ramping it up weekly. It's the approach taken this year and that worked well enough.

Tickets for  Vegas 25 just went on sale here in NZ. Two charter flights for the event were booked out in 17 minutes. Lets hope more flights are available.

$899 for flights game tickets and hotel with Trip A Deal (Manly shirt sponsor). Thats about 450 quid.

Mate, there is no way. That is simply not possible.

Had a very quick look (it's late), and for $899 you get accom and match tickets, no flight.

Now, there is a package that includes accom, match tickets, and flights, for the similar price of $10899. But, that's a little more than 450 quid.

Looking at the Warrington packages it's £2,630 pp twin share

New York 2 day stopover trips hotel transfers .

5 nights in Vegas with a few trips and a ticket.

If you just want just Vegas then it's 5 days plus a few trips and a ticket

£2,340 twin share pp

Local taxes included but no meals.

No Visas incl.

Well for 2 in a twin for the twin centre it's well over 5k minus visas or food.

Factor in food booze (very strict on this) a bit of gambling you won't get much out of £6,500

Me and my Wife flew with Virgin Atlantic in premium economy direct from Heathrow to Vegas, had 5 nights in the Bellagio, saw two shows, the NRL, ate VERY well and did some gambling, and had a bit of change out of £5000.

It was incredible!
