Yes, I understand that, but...WhRL is INCLUSIVE, and trust me, the disabled players are considerably better than the able-bodied players!

In an exhibition session I arranged at my college (many moons ago), a bloke with no legs and half an arm dived out of his chair (well, took it with him), to score a try. (They were the only Bradford Bulls team I ever liked 😉 ).

They are ATHLETES.

It's a wonderful version of our game.

Well, that's actually my problem with Wheelchair RL.  It's not all that inclusive if you're a disabled player whose place has been taken by an able bodied player.  Imho, able bodied players should only be able to make up the team if there aren't enough disabled players.  All disabled players should get game time. For me, this is a participation sport.  What would the reaction be if a Paralympic 4x100m team had three able bodied players in their side?  Would nobody think that's a bit odd?

I thought diving out of the chair wasn't allowed.

I've read that IMG didn't recommend getting rid of Magic, but they did say get rid of loop fixtures, because Magic is a current loop fixture this appears to have been a reasonable misunderstanding, but who knows.

Their paper explicitly stated loop fixtures (including Magic).

Their guy also gave an interview that they felt it didn't have a place yet, but wouldn't rule it out maybe in future.

So they did propose scrapping it, but I don't think it was the strongest of their recommendations.

Ultimately, the way I see it is that they are a stakeholder in RLCom, they can make recommendations but they have to work through RLCom to get anything agreed.

Just pointing out his credentials as the IMG lead, something that has been sideline by other aspects of the project

As for going back to Aus, I can see that might feed the antis, but it's not 12,000 miles away, it's 12 microseconds away.

Anyway, perhaps he's gone back to complete the takeover of SL by NRL.🤔

Well, we have just seen the Cas board of directors publish a press release saying they are confident of getting a grade A. If that's the case, then quite a few championship clubs must be grade A. So all you need to do is emulate Cas and you achieve A grade. Not a very high bar is it.

The bar would not challenge 2'-00" limbo dancers, it is that low!

That's not the point I am making. Cas deserve to be in SL and they have justified that right on the field in the 'old system'. Next season is different as we all know. IF ! Cas do get a grade A as their BoD are forecasting, then many other clubs outside SL must feel there is very little they need to do in order to also get an A. Like I said previously, if Cas in their present state are A material, the bar is not that high.

Sorry Aggers, you are not considering that Cas are a SL club and benefit from all the weighting that SL clubs get in this system. Championship clubs will struggle to reach SL never mind Grade A

Glad you have pointed that out Ginger, let's see how well IMG sell RL when it comes to the next TV contract.

See my other point that you can’t sell what isn’t there.

You keep writing this but every major British sport has a long term broadcast deal as the core of their rights sales, with PPV streaming providing top-up income only.

No reason for rugby league to be any different.

Honest question Toby, do you believe that the Sky money is just top up or RL's primary income?

He didn't say Sky money was the top up. He said that it is the primary income with potential streaming, etc from SL+ being the top up.

So just go and emulate Cas then !

He didn't leave the chair, and it was as a consequence of a huge collision. He still made sure he scored.

Think I remember him being called Andy - this would be Bradford Bulls wheelchair team around 2006, at a guess.

Unbelievable competitor!

Unbelievable or not, it would be a penalty today.

OK Mr Happy, calm down. Someone crashed his chair as he came to the line. They knocked him over, and even whilst falling, he kept the ball, and scored with the chair more or less on his head.

It was an experience session that Bradford Bulls WhRL agreed to put on for our college students.

Gill and the Bulls members that came along were brilliant.

I prefer to be amazed by the player's commitment, athleticism and competitiveness, rather than tell a bloke with no legs and half an arm that he's just given a penalty away.
