Derek embarrassing himself again.

1. He voted for it

2. London are at the bottom of the league

As a Leigh fan, I would much rather DB didn't take to social media with this stuff. In fact, I'd go as far as to say I'm a bit concerned about his general welfare. Getting caught up in arguments with fans of other clubs while he must still be grieving is not going to do him any good at all.

I also think that Hull's season this year has shown something of an unintended consequence of this system. I don't have too much concern about dead rubber games at the end of the season, but they appear to have written off this season at a pretty early stage. Three wins at this stage of the season is an awful return for a club given a top grade just the previous year.

One thing I can say with some certainty is that the Hull fans deserve better.

I concur with your assessment of Mr Beaumont on social media.

I don't thinkt Hull wrote this season off. They sacked a coach (earlier than Leeds or Huddersfield did), have brought in new investment, and have tried to shuffle the squad as much as they can this year. That is not writing the season off, it just hasn't worked instantly.

They have just been dire, that happens. The difference between Leeds being that bad for most of the season and then winning the comp between 2016 and 2017 was 1 good dummy half (Segeyaro then Parcell). The nature of particularly the fast paced 6 again modern RL is that if you are even just a little bit worse it will look like a lot on the scoreline.

Being a grade A club doesn't mean you can't have a rubbish team on the pitch. It doesn't protect you automatically from poor recruitment or tactical decisions. Hull should be better yes, but they've just got it wrong this year and not been able to turn it around.

You could just as easily say that Hull wrote this season off when they saw how bad London were and that they were saying they'd still be part time. It doesn't make either any more correct.

I do think that Hull FC writing off the season is a narrative just being spun solely to criticise IMG. Sure they're been awful but we've seen that with teams before and no team aims to do deliberately bad, that's disastrous on a number of levels from a club point of view, and I find it hard to believe that Hull FC just gave up so early.

It's just really dumb analysis and makes RL people look like a bunch of neanderthals unable to actually understand the complexities of sport and how a team can have a poor season for a huge number of reasons.

Agree, you can’t really judge Hulls season based on a different system, if relegation was in play they may have made some different decisions which might have ‘saved’ them from the drop but might not have been the best decisions for the longer term.

Exactly, it's not in Hull's interest to be this bad. It's not like they are saving money or making it more likely for them to have increased fan revenues next year...

At Belle Vue yesterday I had the pleasure of being able to touch the new hand rail that divides the 'posh' seats from the standard. It gave me a very tactile satisfaction knowing I could actually feel something that gave Wakey a fraction of an IMG point.

And you won by 60 points so the experience of watching Hull could also be replicated.

Just because you think everyone hates you doesn't mean they don't.

A couple of the try’s (Rodwell and Jowitt) were worth the admission alone.

Good to see the flats and south east corner have a new colour scheme and paint too. Noticed some new signage up that looks professional for the corporate, says etc. If nothing else it makes it look much tidier.

Once LED boards go in next few weeks it’s going to look even better.

The only thing really to sort is the west. Though it’s had a smarted up with the paint and banner till that can happen.

It's no one's fault but Wakefield's own that you are not in SL...yet....

Nobody has said it isn’t?

Who or what are you replying to suggesting that it isn’t Wakefields fault?

The club went down and didn’t complain taking their medicine.  They have worked very hard in all areas since.

Very strange response to have a chip over something you imagined.

Think it was said in jest.

Why do you say that, because I did not tell you which side of the rail I sit. 😉

In all fairness, I just think the whole things sums up some of the 'daft' ideas that have come out of IMG and the RFL have paid handsomely for their wisdom. The rail itself makes no difference whatsoever to the game experience, but it gave many quite a bit to laugh about regarding the stupidity of it all.

while the rail itself may make no difference, over the past 20-30 years many clubs have been saying that and after a few bits of "it doesnt really make much difference"  we end up with rundown stadiums that really do take away from the game experience. That is part of what IMG are trying to fix and while some of these things may seem daft and trivial when they add up they should provide a more up to date, and safe, experience for people which may well, and hopefully will, be able to attract, and importantly, keep new fans coming to the games.

"RFL have paid handsomely"

That's interesting. How much has the RFL paid for IMGs wisdom?

I believe the game has paid £900k, doubt it direct from the RFL coffers though, more deducted from the TV income before the reaches the clubs.

It's evidence and proof that counts.

So , can anyone  tell us how much has been paid by the RFL or anyone else, and for what deliverables?
