Sounds like an absolutely bonkers finish at the Shay. Fax win 14-10 with Bradford having 1 final play about 5 minutes after a post-hooter brawl.

Ive never seen anything like it in all my time watching RL. Fax celebrated the win twice before the actual last play. My take was Bradford had a penalty and then slung the ball around with the hooter going, a Bradford player drops the ball and all hell let loose which should have signalled the end of the game but instead we get a huge brawl which leads to Braber getting a red and Tangata a yellow along with a Bradford player getting a yellow as well and the whole incident putting on report amid allegations of a racial insult by one of the Bradford players.

Fax and bradford fans stood there for 5 minutes while the ref tries to sort it out with nobody knowing if the game is over or not. The ref eventually somehow gives Bradford a Penalty and on that play Bradford have a try ruled out. Crazy, crazy finish. Thought it was a really good game and if Fax play like that during the season they would not have been in this trouble. I also don't like slating ref's but I thought it was a very average performance by the man in the middle with some quite bizarre decisions not least at the end.

I suspect he may derive a little mild satisfaction from that result...

I love it when we win our cup final. 😆

Souter, his second one of the game, according to reports.

Widnes will be struggling to name 17 fit players again, so Barrow will be strong favourites. Be so ironic if all those injuries Widnes picked up against Alan Kilshaw's Swinton end up costing Swinton a few weeks later, although I can't see any Championship team losing a home game against League 1 opposition to be actually relegated.

Barrow certainly won’t be strong favourites. We have also got plenty missing unfortunately

Fev have to win at York or hope Barrow beat Widnes i know which i think is the favourite. To be fair to Widnes they have shown much improved form this season and deserve to be in the play offs. But it all comes down to 80+ min next Sunday.

Great win and some relief after the last few weeks.

Based on your description despite the ball having been dropped it wasn’t “dead” so the game hadn’t finished. The brawl therefore had to result in a penalty. If it had been an amateur game then blow for full time but that wouldn’t have been an option today. Mr Cullen & friends will be busy this week.

I thought the ref had a decent game and had to deal with a number of difficult situations with experienced players from both sides trying to influence him. Gaskell was the worst culprit and the ref showed a lot of resolve to tell him to pack it in.

Like most people in the ground I have no idea whether the outcome of the last few minutes was correct. I think many a referee would have just blown for full time and got inside for a hot shower.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Hmm, a York, Featherstone draw would put both through thus rendering Widnes' result irrelevant. Trying to recall any previous occasions when a draw suited both teams.😉

You have been watching Rugby League long enough to know how difficult it would be to play for a draw.I do remember though When Fev played at Thrum Hall Halifax and Fax needed a win or draw to finish Champions and FEV needed the same to avoid relegation to the second division.Fev built up a lead and during the game Fax whittled it away.Fax drew level with about 8 min to go and shortly after the timekeepers decided it was full time with 6 or 7 min to play.Draw it was Fax Champions and Fev stayed up.Other Fev supporters may remember the game.

You don’t deserve to be in the playoffs unless you finish in the top 6 especially with no loop fixture

sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward

Yep, that was the one that came to mind. Just these circumstances don't crop up that often.

Pleased for Oxy he has not had much to smile about recently.

TBH Oxy has not been the greatest supporter of the club recently. Humble pie 🥧 now maybe!

I know we have been down this road before Lee but I honestly can’t help but smile when Mr Cullen and rugby related discipline are mentioned in the same sentence. For clarity I spoke to him once in person when he was the Warrington coach and I can honestly say that he came across as an absolute gentleman.

He knew how to put it about on the field my kind of player.

Yep and mine too. He would have had his own parking spot at disciplinary HQ if he was playing today.

That game v Wigan when he was supposedly pole axed and then he jumped up and started chasing Andy Goodway. Was grade would that have been deemed as?

I met him a couple of times after he retired from playing and fully agree with your assessment.

We were on the way home that day and York were still playing! Didn't the timekeepers get the MOM!
