York look like they're starting this season how they finished last. They run hard and defend aggressively.  Their pivots are clever. I think it's between them and Bradford to win the Championship.

Poor effort from Keighley which ever way anyone may attempt to dress it up. A clear and obvious lack of desire to defend their own line. Did not expect them to win but to concede over 70 at home is quite simply unacceptable. Has there really been any all round improvement under Mr Webster? Not sure that there has really.

This is probably the best York side I’ve seen in 40 odd years so I don’t think Keighley should be too down beat. They won’t play anyone better this season. 
 

Obviously can’t take too much from today but we look to have gone up a level since last season. Hopefully we improve even further.

Looks like The Sportsman is showing two cup ties this weekend - York v Hull KR and Halifax v Catalans.

Great stuff. 

Looking forward to it and I hope York and put in a good showing. Rovers going in without a warm up, potential for a scrappy encounter but it will still be a big ask for York to keep it competitive.
