I imagine lots of people would like to enter Jeremy Hunt, preferably with something sharp and pointy made of metal......

I set 'em up ...

May

Johnson

Fox

Hunt

Crabb

Anyone else yet?  Morgan was hinting?

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

That was all conditional on the Italians, Spanish, Portuguese and Greeks willingly accepting permanent austerity and crippling recession and us being lucky enough that fascists were only getting 49.7% of the vote in Austrian presidential elections and not 30,000 votes more. The EU is on the way out whether we like it or not so we may as well get ready a few years early for the new world and reorientate out economy towards Asia.

I'd like to know how these countries are going to be able to afford their extra EU payments to cover Britain's contributions once we leave ?

That'll go down well with their people - crippling austerity measures while paying more into the EU coffers.

A name to watch in the Tory party, either now or in the future, is Andrea Leadsom.

She would be a far more sensible choice than Boris but may not have the backing of other MPs this time around.

Definitely held her own in the debates.  Tory elections tend not to deliver the favourites.

Imagine Hunt as PM. He could screw the rest of the country like he has screwed the NHS.

She was not denying entertaining the contest when on Women's Hour earlier today.

Morgan or Hunt, both as useless as each other and both hated by the people within their respective areas! It would be comedy gold though.

It's truly astonishing that either of them should even consider standing.

So, Hunt wants to wait until 2020 and a fresh general election or referendum. Does that mean if he wins then it's a small few hundred MPs overriding the referendum result for years? Then trusting FPTP to provide a result? Surely a 50% electorate vote must be required to overturn it.

Morally yes, legally no.

I thought he was talking about a referendum for us to agree to the deal, whether we want to be part of the single market or not ?

The in/out question is done & dusted with no going back

Makes little difference, Hunt wont even make the final cut, it'll be a straight fight between BoJo and May.

Either a further referendum or standing on a pledge to activate A50 based on a proposed new EU arrangement.

Why is there no going back?

Didn't farage suggest a 52/48 remain vote = a 2nd referendum???

Farage doesn't get a say in it, he's not even an MP.

The current PM says that's it, the decision is made, Corby says that's it, accept the people's decision. The new PM is more than likely to be a Brexiter who will form their cabinet of largely Brexiters, so no chance of it even getting to the table for discussion. Its only the wannabe tin-pot dictator in Jockland that's banging on and on about it, but she's not even a Westminster MP.

Despite what many labour voters are saying there wont be a GE before 2020 (or at least before our EU deal is concluded). Even when they're at each others throats the Tories wont give up power. Besides which, both Tory heartlands and Labour strongholds alike backed Brexit so any election where an MP stood on a ticket vowing to defy the will of the people would see a massacre with vast swathes of MP's losing their seats.

There's one thing you can be sure of, MP's love power more than anything else and virtually none would put themselves in a position where they would lose everything.

Quite correctly, the Tories will wait for further Socialist bloodbath over the boundary changes. The hard left will seek to deselect numerous moderates. The socialists are now being backed to secure 'less than 200' seats in the next 600 seat Parliament.
