Why surprised?

Would provide good cover in 2-3 positions and he's local.

Seen him play a couple of times, always looked more than useful, maybe wants to push himself on and make a go of it at this level.

Buffer and wilkes will need a game or 2 rest this season so strength in numbers will be required weather that be a local lad who will wait his chance go back to local if on d r forms or wait and see what we get from Huddersfield when we ask.

Just in passing , I’ve noticed a few teams announcing squad numbers ? Are we not going down that route again

The name on the shirt alongside number was read out at the shirt presentation & team photo launch event. 

At that time we hadn't signed Jonathan Walsh,  Clayton Sutton or agreed terms with Fuifui Moimoi (subject to visa) so these numbers will be allocated accordingly.
