Awful but still within touching distance of Oldham. How does the ref give a penalty five metres inside the Oldham half and then allow them to kick from five metres into the Skolars’ half?

Skolars are welcome to play like this next week at Keepmoat if they like. They are literally clueless. No idea what to do with the ball near the line.

The ref allowing Oldham to pinch ten metres for the penalty at the end of the first half could have cost Skolars that game.

I think the Skolars player queried it before the kick and was told it was the correct location.

Thought the referee had a good game overall, although the number of times Oldham defenders were in the Skolars line before the ball had left the play-the-ball was a bit annoying. 

Injuries towards the end of the season maybe means fewer dual-reg players and maybe a fall away in quality for certain L1 clubs?

It is clear that the better team won.  A small group of Thunder supporters made the long journey and were very vocal in support of their team. At the end of the game all of the Thunder team came to the touchline to thank them. It was good to see.
