Rumours are circulating that DR will not be permitted for 2021 season. There is an expectation that test and trace will be required well into 2021 and that the movement of players from one club bubble into others and back again mitigates against the system.

To be fair, there's only the same number of jerseys to fill every week.

Maybe less if some clubs fail to make it to the start of the season.

But some a the youngsters might get a run out rather than been sent to swinton,We have seen some brilliant players come to our place with say fax/fev/sheffield/ rochdale,now they get to fullfill there chance at grabbing a shirt and keeping it,not good news for those who are on edge of things due to age and fitness but we will have them in championship when things get back to normal.

A crying shame for the game and for its players regarding this and any other similar agreements not happening if there even is to be a Championship season and there not to be a reserve grade next year.

Yeah definitely, you'd think reserve grade could potentially happen given it should be just extended Super League squads but who knows. The whole game is in financial peril

I've learned to take all this stuff with a pinch of salt.  We're talking six months ahead.  Looking six months back, we'd barely started lock down.

One minute we were wondering whether to get another box of Lemsip in, the next we were all stuck in the house.

That’s an internal club issue, not the issue of Rugby League as a whole.

  Could be sooner but RL currently hoping  ( and planning ) for total unlock by 1/4/2021

Good news . Distorts games , distorts leagues and encourages over reliance on someone else to gain artificial strength rather than building your own squad and going with that . I’ve no issue with longer term loans but scrap DR . At times you don’t know who you’re playing against till a couple of days before . From experience we used it , but it can be counterproductive in that it can fracture your own team and the harmony in that . You say well ok as everyone else is doing it , so take away the option in the first place and then see where everyone stands

I think there’s a place for something similar to DR in the game, though the execution of DR has been poor.

3 players or more get a chance if theres players with knocks.those same 3 or 4 could have gone for a game with a championship team no probs if things were same as before this virus.i dare say they enjoy getting a game if theres no reserve/second team but at end a day they want game time on telly in Sl.
