Great post. RFL and IRL may be pushed together by having a common enemy now A summer Nines series in British cities with teams called Samoa, Ireland, England, USA but using unknowns to mirror The Hundred ('The Nines") would be a great start to this new relationship. Sky want our sport to be more dynamic and forward thinking. That's the start. The international game must learn to do without NRL players if it is to realise its commercial ambitions.

Certainly worth exploring.

Old f@rts of a conservative bent seem to hate The Hundred but it's a solid gold hit.

It's essentially putting an old product in new packaging, of course, but I think they've done a fantastic job of making cricket appear young, fresh and exciting.

Jon Dutton on Sky Sports for the Leeds Vs. Wire game. Doesn’t sound like a man who’s about to pull the plug on the RLWC.

Coming across really well IMO.

That ARLC bio security report is a lot of old horse manure… so utterly wrong and full of lies.

Hes been superb, really good to listen to. Very telling that he said the organisers haven't seen this independent report the NRL muppets keep referring to.

Just switched it on and caught the very end of it, good to hear they have people on the ground in Australia working for them

He came across really well. It was going to be, and hopefully still will be, a fantastic World Cup.

I've no idea what that refers to.

Being right isn't going to win this battle. Pointing out hypocrisy is not going to make a difference. Showing up the NRL for being myopic, self-interested shysters will not move anything in our favour.

So what, just allow them to put out garbage statements with no basis in reality and not put their view over?

I think he’s coming across very well, calm, professional but I reckon there’s a bit of steel there

Not sure how you can be passionate about a team you have no connection to or even in the same country as you are from but each to their own... as long as you support your local team as well suppose no harm done.

Great to see as an Irish person you sing our National Anthem to our Queen with pride at Liverpool matches- well done lad.

Hope to see you at Newcastle singing it for Englands first WC game. 👍

Sure we were all signing it before team GB got smacked around the place by PNG on the last tour. 😉

No. Absolutely challenge them.

But accept that it will not shift the dial one bit.

Why do I get the feeling he'll be this year's Sally Bolton? Hopefully he will stay in RL.

Well whatever happens now, at least we shown a bit of balls and came out fighting. In previous years, we'd have just cowered to the demands of the NRL and cancel the tournament straight away.

Really, why?

He's just organised the first World Cup that the top two rugby league nations are refusing to attend.

His CV is far more impressive than you dare let yourself appreciate. Not sure what more he could have done with the World Cup, but I’m sure you will be along soon to put me back in my box, as seems to be a bit of a theme recently.

You mean, to give that team their correct name- The British Isles 13.

So yes, cheers for singing but your country was represented in that game as well dont forget kid.😉 - you can't pick and choose.

That wasn't his fault. Let's not pretend that the Aussies haven't been threatening this for years. Just this time, they haven't got their own way (yet).

I have no idea what you mean by the last line.

His CV could very well be impressive. So far he can’t include “delivered successful Rugby League World Cup” and, even when he can, I’d rather we have the best person leading the complex beast of the RFL (which may be Dutton) rather than just give it to someone because they were the visible face of one project.

Because we had years of “Sally Bolton should do this” after the 2013 World Cup and it really did show up how small time our view often is.
