Dom Young. Is he the best we have to offer out wide? Woeful positioning and weak as when It comes to tackling. Is he the in the best two wingers that we possess today?

What happend to Makinson 😂. He is a top 3 winger in our game and is easily England’s best come on.

Roby's distribution in the GF was orgasmic. I'd be begging him to play for that alone.

I think we'll do alright, but against the better teams, i fear we may be a bit light in the back 3 coming out of our own half. If Tomkins was to play 6/7, who would be a suitable 1?

Not a lot to dislike, there.

I'd have had a couple differently, but I don't think there's anything 'wrong'.

Hall / Cooper?

Thought Sutton would be a better bet than Cooper.

Think there's a decent chance Sutton may have quietly withdrawn from the squad. His missus gave birth (slightly premature) to their twins a couple of days ago, so I reckon he'd have been hard pushed to feel comfortable about leaving them so soon after.

Happy with the squad. There will always be the odd player here and there you’d consider changing but in the main it’s fine. I’m a bit surprised with KPP being in there. As a Wigan fan I love his potential but I don’t think he’s quite there yet but it’ll be a good experience for him.

I agree.  With what is available, I think it is as good as we could muster.

Really pleased to see Ackers in there and very happy that Oledski has been passed fit with all the drop outs.

I'm ok with Hall in.  With Walmsley unavailable I think some size was needed in the middle to join Burgess with Oledski, Thompson and Lees more mobile.

Sneyd offers game management and its either Williams or Welsby alongside him for attacking spark (Tomkins will be at #1 as he is named captain).

I would like to think that McMeeken and Batchelor are a chance on the edges to oust Bateman and Whitehead although they will be favourites.

I think I would go with...

1) Tomkins

2) Young

3) Watkins

4) Farnworth

5) Makinson

6) Welsby

7) Sneyd

8 ) Hill

9) Radley

10) Oledski

11) McMeeken

12) Bateman

13) Knowles

14) Burgess

15) Thompson

16) Ackers

17) Batchelor

Radley offers a solid defensive middle to start the game and Ackers comes on later. Bateman offers some cover on the edges should we have injuries to wingers or centres.

I think Welsby just has to play.  he makes things happen and he can play his own game with Sneyd as the organiser/tactical kicker.

Watkins and Pearce-Paul must be selected as centres and I would go with Watkins to partner Farnworth.

Makinson and Young are both great at returning the ball and have pace to finish.

When I first saw players like Hill, Hall and Cooper i thought it was going to be but the more the more look at this squad the more I like it. It is a different squad then expected but I think it will go well. I also like the inclusions of Sneyd, Ackers and KPP.

Oh Dear,

Hill,Cooper,Hall,Mcllorum, over the hill plodders who should be nowhere near an England squad & a halfback in Williams who hasn’t put in a decent performance for 18 months.

Why is Ryan Hall in the squad? He is slower than my old granny now. He's big for the exit carries but that ain't what we need him for....unless we are picking him as a front rower?

If there is a chance of Handley playing he should be in the squad

I think your being a bit over dramatic. It will be a interesting squad but quite like some of the inclusions. It has a good mix of youth and experience and I have a massive feeling all English fans will be praising Wane on his squad selection in a months time.

Some older players that I wouldn't have picked but its good to see the likes of Sneyd, Welsby, Batchelor, Farnworth and Young in there. At least he has picked the young and in form players that many have been calling for.

Well I’d like to kick off … but with what we’ve got available , it would be a quibble . I wouldn’t have picked Mcilorum but gone for a more threatening runner , or picked Hall .I’m glad KPP made it . I’m guessing Sutton may not be available or he’d be in ? Otherwise and overall all the best to them

He’s experience could be well needed in the later stages of tournament. I think Marshall deserves it more but I don’t hate the selection, also if he starts every game he will become Englands most capped player.

From this squad, I think I'd be looking at something like this:

1    Sam Tomkins (Catalans Dragons) - Captain
2    Tommy Makinson (St Helens)
3    Kallum Watkins (Salford Red Devils)
4    Herbie Farnworth (Brisbane Broncos)
5    Dom Young (Newcastle Knights)
6    Marc Sneyd (Salford Red Devils)
7    George Williams (Warrington Wolves)
8    Tom Burgess (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
9    Victor Radley (Sydney Roosters)
10    Mikolaj Oledzki (Leeds Rhinos)
11    John Bateman (Wigan Warriors)
12    Elliott Whitehead (Canberra Raiders)
13    Morgan Knowles (St Helens)

14    Jack Welsby (St Helens)
15    Luke Thompson (Canterbury Bulldogs)
16    Andy Ackers (Salford Red Devils)
17    Chris Hill (Huddersfield Giants)
