They play rugby union in Holland. Went on tour their twice when I was playing union as a kid. Minority sport of course but still.

You literally only need at least one referee from 3 countries to have neutral referees at all games. It's not some sort of insurmountable obstacle.

Yeah I'm not getting the Davies hate. He talked up the Aussies and the skills on display when others may have been negative about the game. He did fine in my book.

I don't think it's a bad attendance at all considering the time and venue and more importantly, the pricing.

Hopefully some of the locals were impressed by the Aussies and be curious about the rest of the world cup.

There is. It’s called World Cup Qualifying. Scotland qualified through this route.
