Having seen Edinburgh play a handful of times before I think they will be a bit disappointed with some of their execution and some of the silly penalties they have given away. They are a better side than they have shown today. Still, they haven't disgraced themselves by any means.

20:30 on 65 minutes. Not a massacre by any means.

And that's how it finished. Time for Wigan St Patricks v Ince Rose Bridge.

It's tough for both teams when it is their first game almost out of nowhere. I was impressed by Edinburgh.

Edinburgh v Saddleworth this Saturday and, just announced, Cornwall v Rochdale Mayfield on the 25th.

Both BBC Red Button.

What's not to like!

Was fine on my telly.

Managed to get to West Bowling v Waterhead this morning, where the home side ran out comfortable winners after a tight first half. Very good standard of rugby on show.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Hat-trick for Peter Valentine, and it looks like the visitors are pulling away now. A nicely-made try too.

And there was a bit of BIFF ....... the magic just keeps giving!

It was a much better match than the Edinburgh game.

A few big bally's on show, but much more skilled, far fewer errors (than the Edinburgh match), great handling and passing, plenty of stiff defence with good tackling technique, (proper rugby league).

I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but I couldn't watch the BBC game to the end, it was driving me mad.

I'm not saying he was wrong, but the ref. blew his whistle so many times, I felt like sending him a strongly worded letter.

I just enjoyed all of them FI this maybe because of Brodie, perhaps I'm just glad it's back.

I did notice something about an Oz ref today things Saints do all the time in SL didn't get a decision for them and I got the idea they changed in this area and if anything looked all the better for it.

My ignore pile is looking like Pentonville prison these days but my Total is much quieter and more agreeable.

I was glad Edinburgh were in it. I was even glad Bridgend were in it last year when the Royal Navy put 60 odd points on them (they were woeful).

I could see they (both teams) were capable of playing a lot better than they actually did, it must have been ''first time on the telly'' nerves. It looked like a case of Murphy's law where everything that can go wrong did go wrong.

The error/penalty count was so high, the game just didn't flow and it frustrated the joy out of me.

I just thought it was a poor game and by extension a poor advert for the game on National television.

Ah well, that's the way the mop flops.

Cornwall in the next round then.

Onward and Upward!

Spoiled coverage by commentators  mixing the teams up ,  making it difficult for the neutral spectator's to follow.

Thankfully someone else said it. The summariser guy was absolutely clueless.

Also: any idea why they don't put an abbreviated team name up on screen next to the score? A miniscule version of an amateur club crest means nothing to anyone who lives outside Wigan.
