In terms of accessibility, I'd say that how easy it is to get to from the nearest point on the M25 is a key question, as surely the aim is to attract people from all sides of London.

With that in mind, Ealing, a quick jaunt down the dual-carriageway A40 from J16, would have been more "accessible" for  lot of people than the Cherry Red, which is a bit of a convoluted car journey from most parts.

Ealing was actually an easierdrive for me from Kent round the M25.

Merton is horrible to get to especially with Herr Khan 20mph limit speed bumps cameras etc.

Totally agree.....

People talk about how great public transport is in London

My mate comes from East Ham for games....by walking / train takes him 1 hour 30 plus door to door even on the rare occasion there are no delays to trains etc

People can call it 'easy' and well connected all they like but nothing beats driving from door to door for speed, convenience and price

Even when we go to central London we still drive now  as a family despite the 25 minute train connection ....(the National Theatre on the South bank by the way is an excellent and cheap place to park!!)

Just seen that Huddersfield are looking to get their biggest attendance for 50 years with a big promotion of the derby with Leeds:

Not going to happen, never was, it wouldn't have happened anyway ignoring the fact that this was launched on the middle of a terrible run of form and a lot of negativity and bad feelings from a lot of the fans.

What is their biggest attendance in 50 years?

29,423 at Newcastle Knights v Cronulla. Another great atmosphere too.

The likes of Newcastle Knights and NZ Warriors coming good this year after some dismal years has really boosted attendances and led to some great atmospheres at games.

At the risk of sparking off three pages of people having a pop, any idea of the crowd at Huddersfield? I know they were doing a bit to try and get a good crowd today

6,621. They stopped pushing for a big crowd when they realised it was never going to happen due to the poor run of form, the offer was still running but wasn't being advertised anymore,   the club knew they'd timed it wrong so fair play for holding their hands up.

There was no way they'd bring in any floating or new fans with the form we were in especially after the offer was launched literally on the back of a 54-0 hammering by the same team they were trying to promote it against.

Even with the offer Leeds brought less than 1,500, the club were hoping for at least 3,000 from them, yes it's good but a far cry from the days when they'd regularly bring 3,000+.

Poor turnout by both sets of fans really but as i say, they are 2 teams who have been performing poorly all season so hard to sell it to anyone but the diehards.

Maybe they should try for their next home fixture using today’s win as a catalyst

Does seem to be a big boom in Australia.

Apart from the fact some teams are more competitive than they’ve been in a while, what’s causing it?

How are the NRL club getting more people through their doors and what can Super League/Championship/L1 clubs learn and copy?

NZ Warriors are constantly emailing/social media posting. That and "ONE" who are the new owners of Vodafone down here are very much super fans too and are happy to subsidise tickets to their customers. I flew up last weekend and I reckon 90% of the flight were heading to the game. At Auckland Airport it was the same with flights from Christchurch and further south with hundreds if not thousands of folk in warriors kit heading for the taxi ranks. My match ticket was $20NZ (£10).

Weirdly this year I've made less effort to go up to see them, but it seems that they've tapped into the South Auckland Pacifica community really well and have the pricing spot on! Long may it continue.

It's against Hull Kr so they will fill it for us - or is that myth quashed these days?

Tbf Hull KR is probably a good fixture to target for a big crowd. They will bring a good following and if the Giants can push for good local support then it could be their biggest crowd of the season

They or Hull FC haven't brought a big crowd to ours for years now.

The Giants have been pushing for good local support for decades now and nothing seems to work.

That's the issue with Huddersfield, we have a large population in and around the town but they are reluctant to support the Giants sadly.

But they can easily get 18-20,000 at the football, why do you think that is ?
