I read on one of their images that they would have white and blue shorts for the away kit. Agree about the shade of blue though - on the video I thought it looked black!

Do you remember these shirts? I always thought this was a ridiculous away shirt that was virtually the same!

Hull have had some howlers. Just stick to a home principal shirt of black and white hoops and white shorts and socks. Job done. Then a change shirt of black with a white chevron. There’s a reason EPL soccer teams rarely mess with the basic design of their main kit.

Hull ultimately are always going to have to have a light coloured away shirt. Cyan, Neon Yellow, whatever - any dark coloured away shirt will clash with their home kit. Frankly this away shirt could be an alternative home kit.

The basic emphasis on any away kit is "does it clash with the home shirt?" Once that is sorted, then the question should be who else do our 2 kits clash with. Hull have this doubly because black and white are tones and as such, any predominantly white shirt may clash, such as St Helens, or any predominantly dark shirt may do similar (this has happened with Leeds). Given Red is out of the question too that narrows it further.

Ultimately I also think that Hull FC just want 2 nice kits and will have a dodgy third or even a fourth shirt for actual clashes if they really have to.

I think Souths had home and away shirts that were identical except one had white and one had black trim. I suppose it's not such an issue for them, it's not like they'll be playing Hunslet anytime soon.

I think the bunny was also black on one, white on the other IIRC.

They do play Canberra though.

Green shirts against red shirts is also an issue for those with colour blindness (about 1 man in 12).

I’m red/green colourblind…..but it’s never been an issue for me on the playing field. In fact, my schoolboy rugby shirt colours were red and green hoops……or were they green and red ??

Grey and grey?

The home shirt is nice, but having dark shoulders and side panels on the away makes absolutely zero sense. Will be no good in a kit clash.

Makes sense for their marketing department when then bring out a third kit 🙂 !!!

What did everybody think of the England kit now you've seen them in action?   I thought the placement of the shoulder sponsor and player name on the back all looked a bit weird - like there was something missing on the actual shoulders - not sure why they weren't all a bit higher up on the kit?

Apart from that looked good for me- just irritates me stuff like that

I thought it looked just as bad as on the initial photos posted on here. It is all out of proportion and just looks wrong. Last years kit was far superior.

Agreed - I preferred last year's shirt. But I shouldn't moan, as I'm just happy that they've stuck with the navy chevron theme, rather than coming up with something different again. I just pray they stick with this as an identity now rather than change again.

It looked like an Oxen training jersey to me, as I said to my (uninterested) wife when she briefly sat down during the game.

Hunslet away:

It’s hard to make anything decent out of light blue, brown and white but to be fair to Hunslet that’s not bad. It’s also good to know you can get your blinds fixed at 3am on a Sunday.

Ah, the famous red leopard.

Apparently this site says I "won the day" here on 23rd Jan, 19th Jan, 9th Jan also 13th December, whatever any of that means. Anyway, 4 times in a few weeks? The forum must be going to the dogs - you people need to seriously up your game. Where's Dutoni when you need him?

The word is , that the home shirt will be " toned down " this coming season ( which it is ) but the away shirt will be " out there " 😂 , so I'd put your order in for the home one

So who knows what colour combination we will see for the away ?

Personally I'm hoping that Degsy brings back the famous "leopard's ar##" on the back of the away shirt next season

I’m guessing the dead space on the shoulders was/is for a potential sponsor - that hasn’t materialised.

Still not keen on the inclusion of navy blue on England jerseys, not as one of the primary colours.

As is always the case with Oxen it’s just badly implemented with stuff out if proportion woth the elements just not working together.

Why is the Blue V so thick for a start?

It wouldn't surprise me to see 2025 be red, black and gold, with a slow move to black and gold as the club's colours. But for this season, I'm not surprised by the shirt, and quite glad they've done what they have. They can now say the club colours are red and black, which is consistent with the social media output over the last 12 months. Whereas if you went to the club shop (stall) last Christmas, a passer by wouldn't have been able to tell you what colours the club played in.

Nah, stick it on the front of the shirt. Imagine being an opponent seeing a leopard's ar## heading towards you!

Originally I thought it was because the badge itself is so tall, but you could easily make the V thinner without affecting the size/placement of the bade. It's just what they wanted to do seemingly.

I was born to run a club like this. Number 1, I do not spook easily, and those who think I do, are wasting their time, with their surprise attacks.
