We're swapping a 33 year old back up half/hooker for a 22 year old back up half/hooker. If you can't see the long term logic in that I can't help you.

Long term totally agree Rob, but what about the here and now, can you put a price on experience when its required?

All I can say is in the short time they have been back in training young Ben must have impressed to allow Joe to leave, to be honest I was never a big fan of Joe as an organiser at 6, but he surely deserved a bench spot he was perpetual motion when he came on.

Here and now our outgoings in the spine  have been Reynolds and Mellor, incoming Matt Moylan, McNamara and looking increasingly likely Tristan Sailor too. I don't think it's going to have a great deal of impact on this year. This is a departure very much on our terms and after the recruitment the past 2 years Lam/Chester have my full trust.

Update says deal is done, this lad is a brilliant ball player judging byh8s highlights on YouTube.

What a spine Sailor, Moylan, Lam, Ipape and Asiata.

I generally take those YouTube videos with a pinch of salt, given they cherry pick the best bits. Could be a load of dross served up during the rest of the game. But Chester and Lam have got a lot more right than they got wrong. On the face of it, if we can add some pace (and someone under 30) to the backline, alongside a new stand off, stronger bench and generally bigger squad. It appears like they've done a good job of recruitment this winter. Hopefully that translates into another good season.

Bulls continue to stengthen with the signing of Aiden McGowan on a 1 year loan deal.

That plugs the 1 remaining gap in the backs, was very impressive last year for Batley. Another year older hopefully he can push on again.

Couple more forwards required now as we are lacking depth in the middle of the park. Anyone got 2 props free???

No squad number for really promising prop Marcus Green. What on earth is going on at the club?

Why would a player whos no longer under contract have a squad number?

I've not seen where he's gone, but good luck to him. Once again, we'll lose an Academy player who'll go on to better things.

Was an interview with Greenwood. From memory offered a contract not signed. Same with Matongo. Plus I'm happy with where I'm at. Youngsters will stay and go. Don't get the Lawford scenario but hey-ho.

On paper it looks like a good signing but it depends how often he takes to the field. Hasn't completed a full season for the last 5 years.

We had a similar issue when we signed Danny Brough

So did we before he came to you, should have been a warning.

We had a Kiwi last year, I still can't bring myself to say his name.

Not sure if this is already widely known or not, but some French websites reporting that Hakim Miloudi is heading to London Broncos.

I'd have always loved to see him back at Donny at some point. Bit surprised we didn't make a move for him. He'll want a guaranteed starting place though.

Watched him play a couple of weekends back for Limoux - he’s capable of some superb touches. May need to get in better shape for Super League however as he looked bigger/heavier than usual.
