I'd support bans for those quoting every post they think is worth a ban, instead of using the report button!

As for the card situation, dropping someone on their head was the worst thing that happened in the first half, either the rules are wrong, or the officials have made a mistake.

Not the best of games and a scrappy first half. Obviously this is largely due to the terrible conditions.

On the sending off for me it's not a sending off due to the way Dupree is dipping. There is some mitigation there for me. Watts doesn't help himself though by making no attempt to lower his body or wrap and he just leads with his shoulder. That probably saw him see red.

The ref alluded to such.

Ellis tackle early was low, with a player falling and contact with an arm that's wrapping. Watts is only slightly falling but no attempt to wrap.

The ref also suggested there was mitigation with the Smith incident but I didn't hear what it was. It seems whatever it was was sufficient to downgrade the red to a yellow.

Conditions look absolutely barbaric out there. Amazed we've got anything even like a game of rugby being played.

It is difficult to see for certain as it happened so fast but to me it looked like Westerman's initial contact was with Dupree's shoulder, which caused his head to bounce into Watts, who then barges into Dupree's head.

I thought it was pretty clear they both hit him in the head.

I believe he mentioned that the attacker in the Smith tackle did have momentum/diving slightly towards the ground. But I would have to re-watch it to actually hear.

Six nations ad, I'm turning this off 😛

It was very short, so I was able to unmute quite quickly.

Funny, saw that too and wondered, as someone who watches both codes on occasion, whether tonight's game had been trailed in the 6 nations coverage. Though I'm sure no-one will own up to watching 6N there must be someone on here who has Intel 'from a colleague / neighbour'

And a red coming up in the Cats game for similar tackle.

Gosh, not sure if I have ever seen that penalty happen before in RL about "jumping into contact" But yeah, he definitely launches himself over the Cas player and into the other one.

Odd thing to do - it was a blatant penalty.

Westerman clearly drops the ball forward, gets classed as backwards. So he feels he has to then drop the ball again 5 seconds later.

I am sure if Cas go onto lose this game they will use the cards as the reason, rather than the 10 dropped balls in Wigan's attacking zone.

Leeming down hurt with something ankular. Now he's up, but hobbling a bit.

That was the explanation and it seemed a correct explanation based on what I saw

Forward 😀

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
