I refer you to a game at St Helens when Josh Griffin snapped his achilles and fell to the ground in pain releasing the ball as he did. Every player on the pitch saw what happened and stopped apart from Fages who picked the ball up and ran under the sticks with it, punching the air with delight.

Ref had to give the try even though it was ungentlemanly conduct.

Hence, as far as I'm concerned, he's a cheating tw @.

You play to the whistle, drummed into every player from the very first time they touch the ball

Yes I can, it's quite easy.

I accept I might not be entirely correct in the eyes of some, but I think I am in the eyes of most.

Why argue logically when not doing so is so much fun?

Sims had his arm under that IMO.

Newman turned to try to get to the ground, and went into Sims' shoulder.

No Try; penalty attacking side IMO.

An 8-point try and binning is very harsh when Newman is the one who turns into contact in a dynamic rugby incident as Sims comes across.

After watching the replay, I think there's little doubt that the ball will have come into contact with the ground even though Sims' arm was under it.

What I think frustrates everyone is that Kendall gives the "try on the field", even though he hadn't a clue. And, as we constantly hear from the VR dialogue, he has to follow the guideline of whatever Kendall says, so gives a try, even though he hadn't a clue either.

This desperately needs changing.

Catalans were really disappointing in that opening 40, given some of the players they have. They don't look like outstripping Leeds and look a bit lumbering. I think they desperately need to get Nikorima on to add some pep and energy around the ruck.

Leeds have been pretty abject, but have gone up for their tries.

Good to see the Ref using common sense there could have been another two or three cards without it.

Allowing people to get away with hitting players in the head is not common sense and has always been something refs are not supposed to do.

Does the ref have to see the ball on the ground to give a try ? I find it a strange one when he says try and then says check the grounding . Then the VR can’t see owt and goes with the ref

Absolutely correct Sir!

Let's keep on with the entertainment, after all, the game's a bit grim.

Indeed.

I thought someone suggested something similar rather eloquently earlier.

Let me check who it was and get back to you...

Expecting a big improvement from Les Cats this half.

They can't be any worse.

That touched a Leeds hand.

Rugby Union the only game in the world were the spectators handle the ball more than the players.

Leeds' captain Cam Smith didn't fancy tackling big Chris then did he?

Missed the first half just seen highlights now, how exactly is Bentley still on the pitch?

I think we're all wondering still. It's shocking.

Fa'amanu Brown may well be able to help you with that one.
