Good list but I’ll disagree on Moy. He's poor imho. Only vastly overhyped by Hull fans and Sky team for a couple of runs in a completely inept team. Hull FC defensively were the worst I have seen ever in SL last season of any team. Dropped some real poor high balls last year too that put FC square under pressure. He wouldn’t get in any other SL team. Needs time to develop at Championship level imo.

I don't disagree that a little spell I'm the championship might be good for his development, but he quite clearly isn't poor.

He was an 18 year old kid with no first team experience thrown into a terrible terrible team, and he was great. Raw, but eye catching and confident and often a genuine threat. There was a 2 month stretch where Hull actually played pretty well. Beat Wigan, beat Leeds, competed well against Warrington, Hull KR, Catalans. Moy was arguably Hull's best player during this spell.

I think he was over exposed and his game eventually deteriorated as the week to week rigours of SL rugby took their toll. But he's clearly a great prospect. Bulked up considerably this off season too.

Hull Live are saying today that Hull FC are trying to sign Deon Cross. Would be a decent addition imo.

Solid player makes good m and finishes well. His defence is pretty hit and miss though

Beggers can't be choosers I guess. There aren't many quality centres available and our current viable centre options are Hardaker (past his best) Litten (young and still learning the position), and Chamberlain (squad utility player at best). After that its kids with no experience or guys out of position. Cross would definitely improve us.

Harvey Smith extends his contract with Wakefield, same duration as Pratt yesterday, till the end of 2028.

Nice to keep a couple of promising club developed lads tied down a bit longer.

If he can keep fit then he'll add to what's looking like a strong Dons pack. Josh Bowden, Jordan Baldwinson and Jacob Jones signed already adding to what was already a good group. Matagi, Pauli, Knowles, Sutcliffe etc.

A player who sadly never fulfilled his potential, partly due to be being blighted by injury. Shame……….a very good pick up for the Dons. I’m surprised no SL club was interested

Maybe too much hassle. I always got the impression he thinks he is much better than he is and is too good for any club he's at.

Don't think Carl or Rich will put up with that. Both know him pretty well

Strong rumours about yesterday that Sneyd was LSV bound.

Phiggins point Harry, which I agree with, is that if Mick Gledhill is saying it's going to happen then it probably isn't. I'll believe it's happening when an actual journalist says it's happening.

Strong rumours 😂😂

Yeah in a couple of pubs Charlie, different folk came up to me to say what they had heard, maybe they had read Mick Gledhills quote I don't know, but it was news to me.

Hope that Mr Gledhill is correct, Leigh have been in need of a tactical kicker for a good while, if we are going for one may as well go for the best, albeit I do believe that his game has much more than just kicking which will be of benefit to us.

As a Salford fan I hope it isn’t true. Maybe it is but gledhill is very much wrong most of the time.

It was mostly the string of games to the back end I saw where he looked out of his depth. But he wasn’t alone and the other young lads just couldn’t do the business. I’ll take your word for the earlier games though as I didn’t see them. Lack of experienced players on the pitch and as you say overexposure probably didn’t help him.

Take Pratt young centre at trinity. Had a spell of about 15 or so games at York in 2023 and that helped him immensely as a 17/18 year old lad.

Last season he played the full season winning young player of the year and he now looks very much SL ready at 20.

I’m not sure SL is always the best environment for young players, a reason why I’m pro dual reg and loan if done correctly. In SL mistakes can be very costly and if it doesn’t always go great on debut I feel like some young players are hung out to dry a little. Less so however at top clubs who are more able to compensate and cover.

I’m all for young players developing. Hopefully Moy is one to make the grade. A few months in the championship would be of big benefit. Watching it all last season it’s a very competitive league and physically it’s not too far away from SL that young players can’t benefit.

If Sneyd goes to Leigh I can see Abdull going to Salford.

Unlikely as they won’t be able to afford him

Well this was unexpected

Genuinely disappointed for Jordan. I hope he has had good advice from his agent and looked after himself here, Hull FC had him on a chunky 3-year deal, and if Cartwright has decided he isn't right (compared to the ball-of-average that is Cade Cust!) then they should still be on the hook for their obligations.

He has played less than 50% of the available matches across his entire career, ultimately that's why Willie Peters decided he couldn't build this Hull KR era around him and you'd have to say that call - criticised by many including lots of Rovers fans at the time - was the right one.

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to look at his body shape and see where all the muscular injuries are likely to be coming from, if we're being brutally honest. I don't know whether it's a mindset thing, or bad nutritional advice, or what it is really but he clearly either has not made the required lifestyle adjustments to be an elite athlete or he doesn't train well. He has the skillset and in-game intelligence to be one of the top scrum halfs in the comp, indeed I think he has shown in the past that could be the #1 half-back in the comp. Hope he doesn't look back on his career in a decade and have regrets.

Totally agree he has the skill set to be as good as anyone in the comp, but this cloud hangs overhim with the amount of games he has missed 50% is a big call over his career that may put some clubs off, speculation immediately points him in the direction of my club we need another capable half to compliment Lachlan Lam and his kicking game would suit and improve us greatly in my opinion, do I want a half of his capability - yes without doubt, if I was in charge would I take the risk and expenditure of him being unavailable and sat in the stand for much of the season, that would take a good dose of looking at, so at best a one year contract would be all I would be prepared to offer.
