Had he been released from Salford after last season or has he been released now as the start of cost cutting measures? Think they were looking to move him on anyway weren't they? They have Marsters, MacDonald, Lafai, Nikorima, Lewis, Stone and Wright in the squad as well, so had to get rid of an overseas player regardless of finances.
binosh Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Surely Hull KR must be near the cap, JWH isn’t coming cheap, they must be releasing someone if they are interested in Sneyd as they have Richardson as back up.
Wellsy4HullFC Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Sneyd's not allowed to go to Rovers. I've said so. I've no further comment 1

He came to Hull on loan last season. I don't know what he'd done to deserve that but it must have been pretty bad. 2 "I'm from a fishing family. Zilla Budgie Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Leigh Leopards are delighted to announce the signing of Alec Tuitavake on a two-year contract. The club can also confirm that Australian forward Ben Condon, whose signing was announced last month will not now be joining the club due to injury concerns following an accident he was involved in.

Interesting signing, NSW cup last 2 years 23 yo looking for a break with big boots to fill. Very similar to Amone just hope it works as well. That’s a pretty young and mobile front row we will be turning out all over 6ft and 106-110 kg. Will be interesting to see if any of the young props come through also. 1

binosh Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Shame about Condon seems he’s had a bad head injury which is causing some neurological issues. Probably best not to be travelling to the other side of the world away from family friends at the moment, hopefully he fully recovers he has age on his side and may travel over in the future. 4
NRLandSL Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 (edited) Paul Momirovski to Lezignan. I like the direction Super XIII is going, signings of solid SL players still at the peak of there powers is massive for the competition. This comp is only getting stronger and stronger in my eyes and I can’t wait for it to go professional in the next few years. I think Super XIII is well on its way to becoming the third best rugby league comp in the world. Edited December 17, 2024 by NRLandSL
The Phantom Horseman Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 (edited) To save anyone from a potential clickbait trap, the headlines that have sprung up amongst some RL sites in the last hour along the lines of "Hull KR's Ryan Hall makes Championship move" aren't about the Robins' (now former) international winger, but his namesake, a young back row who has never played first grade; he's signed for Hunslet. I had high hopes for Mourgue when he came on the scene but he sadly hasn’t lived up to expectation. That being said, I feel Cesar Rouge is a better prospect.

I’d disagree, before this year, yes. But he has developed his game a lot this season after becoming Catalans regular starting FB. He’s developed his general attacking/decision making and passing game heaps. Not to mention he is a brilliant goal kicker, which (Hull KR need). His safety under the high ball as improved heaps as well as his defence, and as you mentioned he’s running game is exceptional.
Archie Gordon Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Mourgue needs a fresh start. He's a 6 but has been played at 1 and 9 for too long and is just not developing. Should have done this 2 years ago.

Getting other young lads now I think. Zenon, now back after a year injury. Before that he had played at Hull KR. The other lad looks good too Alspuroc-Bichet. He was the best when they played Carcassonne the other week. Aispuro-Bichet is absolutely phenomenal though, I think he will become one of the best outside backs in SL. Clement Martin is aswell very special, some exciting youth at Catalans. Also Lenny Marc and Giovanni Descalzi-Ganthier will be great SL players in the future.

Can’t agree here sorry. You may want to go back and watch some Catalan games from 2024 especially mid - back end. Very frequently the ball ended up in his hands with the edge players crying out for a pass or for him to draw a defender only for him to try cut inside and run it. His edge plays are poor and his pass selection especially when trying to create the overlap or give edge players space was non-existant. It’s no surprise that he’s on the out. As others have said, he’s just not developed last couple of years. He does have a good running game but I’m not sure he has the technical ability to play full back certainly. He is youngish though, perhaps a change will help him. Some players thrive in a different environment. It probably says more about the lack of young talent at full back. 1

We will agree to disagree, and I stand by every thing I said. In prior years he has certainly struggled in attacking 3 on 2 situations to play the right pass or right decision but this season he has looked far better and more composed. He is still not perfect but the signs of improvement are most certainly there. He has been very solid very for Catalans this year and I think he is great signing to replace an aging Evalds or Tyrone May. Fullback is probably the position with the most talent in rugby league currently, so not sure what you mean by that last comment. Edited December 18, 2024 by NRLandSL

Seems to be a common theme with French players - bursting on to the scene with much promise only to stagnate and not really develop the Rugby IQ to take the next step. Gigot, Escare, Fages all spring to mind.

Yes I can definitely see the direct link between a young back rower that the club has decided isn't going to make it to Super League standard, and an established young full back who has already demonstrated he has. Hilarious attempt to drag Hull KR for strengthening their team: 2/10, must try harder 1
