The Valks should have too much for Fev ladies, although there are never any gimmies. The mens team will have a difficult game against Doncaster. We owe them one from the 1st game of the season but they're no mugs. Should prove to be a good game and I'm hoping that the Knights Mashball proves too much for the Dons.

Same 13 who started last week against Barrow with keinhorst and Santi replacing Michael and Reynolds on the bench.

Keinhorst should start. Best players in best positions.

No reason why he won’t , he wasn’t out through injury last week , he was at rob Burrows funeral, Santi will be a boost in the pack. At least Pauli won’t be playing for Dons as he is banned!
the way the boys are playing now we should be good enough to beat them, as long as they turn up in the right frame of mind. Mash seems to have got them fired up in away Hendo didn’t for some reason.

Big loss for us Pauli. Been playing very well and doing full 80 minutes.

Certainly had a big game against us and playing long minutes something he didn't do at the knights.

Knights are 1/5 with Skybet to win outright, Donny get 14 start on the handdicap coupon. If you fancy a quid on the Valkyrie they are 1/200, with Fev ladies getting 56 start on the handicap.

The win today was built on our defence which didn't give Doncaster any opportunity at any point through out the game, the only downside was the injury to Harris before half time.

Fair play to Donny. Completely outclassed but never threw the towel in

I'll disagree there. The Knights were very workmanlike and efficient, but I thought Donny were bang average and their discipline was poor.  Indeed you could argue Craig Hall was their best player, and he only played the last 20 minutes or so. Lots of ex Super League players going through the motions. Where have we seen that before?

Hingano too looks like he’s fractured his face just when we’re looking good we will likely be going Bradford without Harris and ata

For me this was one of the best overall performances for a while by the Knights. Donny have made some good signings but time and again, when Connor Robbo tried to get their attack into gear, our defence snuffed them out. As others have alluded to, I also expected more from Donny but our hard working and organised team barely gave them a sniff.

Well done all.

Great defence today Mash said when he first arrived he wanted to work on defence and it’s showing Doncaster never looked like scoring all day.

If we keep defending like that we’re going to be hard to beat, big test next week at Bradford think there missing a couple through suspension if we get a result there it will be huge.

'clinical' was the word i came away with, our defence was rock solid which hasnt been the case in recent times prior to the new gaffer. we gave donny absolutely nothing to play with and ground em into the floor. the really good thing was that despite all the organisation there was still plenty of room for off the cuff play and flowing rugby. just the sorta stuff we want to be seeing.

well done lads, up the kneets, crack on.

Couldn't agree more. That was undoubtedly the most disciplined and organised performance of the season so far. And the difference from when we met them at the start of the season.

We were a couple minutes late yesterday so ended up almost on the fence. But from there it was noticeable just how vocal the team is now. constantly communicating with each each both in possession and defence.

suspected fractured eye socket and harris a hamstring injury , good job this season we've got half a dozen hookers / halves on our books ,probably play sam cook and nikau williams in the halves , brad ward can move into centre with AJ back on the wing , that still leaves jubby , daly and pembo to compete for the hooking position.

Pembo was at the game yesterday with an orthopaedic boot on, so he's out of contention anyway. Real blow if Ata Hingano is out for any length of time, as he's playing so well at the moment. I saw him go down, but when he waved off an HIA and continued playing I didn't think anything more about it......

Pembo told me he has the boot on for another 2 weeks, it's an old injury he aggravated against Widnes. Typical of our luck to have our 3 best half backs out together. I think Ata clashed heads with Keinhorst making a tackle, fingers crossed its not as bad as it appears.

I've seen a few posts on this forum moaning about letting good players out on loan, so with your issues at half back I was surprised to switch on my telly last night and watch Nikau Williams almost single-handedly win the Euros for Spain.

From what I’ve heard ata hasn’t broken or fractured anything and could be back in a couple of weeks

Certainly need him out on the field as he gives us a different dimension in attack and can certainly tackle and at the start of the season our coach thought he would be better playing at loose forward!

Thats good news. His injury free run over the last 8 weeks - and the last month especially - has been by far his best stint in a York shirt. He seems to be full of confidence at the minute and its great to see. His kicking game in the second half after Liam went off was outstanding. 👌🏼

Comedy performance award has to go to Brett Ferres - part of me would have been happy to see him binned (on several occasions) but the all-round chuckle value of such a poor show won out.

Bookings now available for a comic villain for this winter's pantomimes....
