Anyone explain this one, two or three Halifax players dragging Gilmour towards the touchline. One yard from touch Gilmore unloads a pass to Ince. Decision, a penalty to Halifax. Cannot recall ever seeing anything like it in all the years I've watched the game.

No idea. Ref can't have called held? Penalty other way if so.

If the Widnes player Gilmour passes after the ref calls held the ref should let him play the ball not penalise him. However did Gilmour or Ince say something to the ref?.That would be a penalty to Fax.

One of those bizarre turning points - Widnes were completely on top until that point, it's been all Halifax since then. We're getting absolutely caned in the penalty count since then too.

Halifax 20 Widnes 24 FT. Honestly don't know how Halifax managed to lose that.

If Barrow & Whitehaven stay ahead, that puts Halifax back into a relegation spot I think.

Barrow 8 Sheff 6

I only heard the 2nd half but what a determined showing by Barrow today, Tackled them into submission 🫶🤛

Expecting a hard game at Keepmoat based on this. Away to Sheffield week after. Doesn't get easier.

They scored off the back of it. I'd genuinely like to hear the referees explanation.

Just because you think everyone hates you doesn't mean they don't.

It certainly is, Swinton got 42 at Fev, Haven got nilled then beat Swinton ,you must have enjoyed that.

Barrow did something similar.

Im intrigued as well. Ive literally no idea how it could ever have been a penalty to Fax. Fax players continue to dr-ag him over the line- and it should have been a penalty to Widnes for players clearly dragging. The ref calls held and the players were still dragging which they were when he passed then it should still have been a penalty to Widnes. Ref calls held and ignoring the dragging then its just back to a Widnes play the ball. I literally can't get my head around the decision.

Poor start by Fax cost them the game and then once back in it and dominating stupid brain fart errors put paid to what should have been a good victory even if the opposition were depleted like Widnes are. Its going to make for an exciting end to the season for us as we look incapable of a shock win where teams around us seem to be picking up points. Will probably be the death of the club if they do go down but its all a bit of a mess at the moment.

Oxy how are your attendances  holding up.At Fev we have gone down from 2500 to 1000 and they will drop further with performance like yesterdays.* former Fev player in Donny side who played us of the park. One good thing we have got shut of all the idiot trouble makers.

I didn't hear the crowd today but it was visably quieter around the round today so I would estimate maybe around 1300 or so but that was propped up by a healthy following from Widnes that might have been 200-300 or so.

Im not surprised about the drop off in crowds but that amount from Fev is quite alarming. For me I can find very little motivation to go and watch what is the worst Fax team I have seen in the Championship, including 2004, and I would rather watch an amateur game. Today was the first time I have watched in a few weeks and to be honest for most of it I was bored out of my head. Im not sure its because of our position, Im just losing interest in RL at this level.

As i live in Sheffield  it is not strong in the amateur game.I am thinking of taking in games at either Normanton the crowd loved me there or Sharlston who beat us 9 times out of 10 but you knew were you stood with them.Another possibility is Crigglestone all Blacks when the Sunday League packed in our team merged with them.Last time i heard Lino from Wakey was coaching them.

Liam Finn has coaching experience of being relegated from Championship (not really his fault) and promoted out of L1 at the first attempt.

Don't know about you but I'm still non the wiser how the ref came to the decision he did. Quite bizzare, I just can't think any reason there why Fax would get a penalty.

Oh I don't really blame Finn, this is still basically Simon Grix's team and along with the forced signing of Widdop, Finn has not really had a fair shot. Grix's mistake was not freshening up our squad each season and as we saw last season a lot of the players really needed moving on but instead he got rid of some players that were good and kept players who have been bang average.

Of all the possible outcomes for that incident a penalty to Halifax did not cross my mind.

From where the penalty was awarded it has happened at the edge of the screen so difficult to see clearly. The referee was in a decent position

The signal indicates that the Widnes player has pulled a Halifax player. Has that occurred as/ after the offload?

The Widnes players seem to accept the decision

The penalty was given at the point of the incident, there are two Widnes players at the scene, one of them is being dragged (illegally) into touch, the other one only gets close enough to collect the pass. Widnes players were not pulling anyone anywhere near that position.

With the refs arm signal, it looks to me as though he's given the penalty for a voluntary tackle. Deliberately falling to the ground. I could be wrong but that's mt take. Unbelievable.
