Embarrassing performance!

Ollie Ashall-Bott has looked like Billy Slater, a try hat trick, 2 cut out passes leading to try’s and a try saving 1 v1 tackle

But what about Tolouse's performance?

Read my earlier post where I gave nothing but praise to TO for the way they’ve approached and played the game

Awful performance from Trinity but credit to Toulouse they’ve turned up with their sleeves rolled up and a belief in themselves.

Wakefield have been outplayed in every facet of the game but have also been their own worse enemy’s. Poor discipline, ball control and uncommitted defending have gifted TO all the field position they need to score points.

Ollie Ashall-Bott’s footwork has left defenders grasping thin air and his cut out pass sent the winger in

A few of us have said it right back from the Siddal cup game that when we continuously spill the ball  a good side will eventually make us pay.  Go back and read the Wakefield fans comments week after week.  Powell hasn't addressed the problem and a couple of clubs have run us close but the chickens have well and truly come home to roost today.

So Wakefield can come home and pick up steamrollering the part timers again but it needs sorting before the play off for sure.

Dons just gone 22-6 up. Fans are saying it's the best first half performance they've seen all season.

Have Fev given up?

Based on what I've seen this season, I'm not sure we've ever started.

I thought TO looked OK. I don't know if that was because Wakefield were very poor, or TO put them on their place. The sin bin helped though, a bit of a dopey tip tackle from the Wakefield lad.

It was hot out there today. 33 in the stands so probably around 38 to 40 on the pitch. Same again forecast for next Saturday.

Regarding my hometown team Wakefield Trinity result. IMHO it does not change anything in the grand scheme of things. It may just calm down one or two of the WT supporters we will go unbeaten all season clan. WT don’t even have the excuse of being part time so on the face of it this is quite a drubbing. As people have already pointed out. Massive well done to Toulouse. This is a bit of a statement result. Little niggle at back of my mind as to wether DP has let the lads loose on the sauce night before.

In my opinion Toulouse came out of the blocks slowly this season after a downer mentally over what happened to them over the previous couple of seasons, and were underperforming massively. They have now started to show their potential.  Wakefield have obviously improved significantly due to  solid investment and sensible promotion of their team, and have been very consistent.  I think that for the good of the game both teams should be part of an expanded 14 team SL which would benefit all in the medium to long term, but I doubt that common sense will prevail.

I posted last week saying that Trinity were under-performing against part-time teams, relying too much on full-time fitness. The good news is apart from TO, there's no one else who can beat them, except maybe Bradford if they keep signing players 😊 A big warning shot for Trinity the the GF play-off match wide open now.

hat-trick Ashall-Bott, Toulouse lead 20-0. Wakefield remind me a lot of Fev last year. Regularly rolling teams down the middle but look a bit lost when the opposition don't fold.

I don't remember Walmsley receiving a pass on the right hand side? Is Gale capable of passing from left to right?

With Johnstone on the left next year think Powells left side tactic could see him the top try-scorer by a country mile. But if that doesn't work, Powells teams really struggle to use his right hand side.

Think that will be Wakeys only defeat this season.

Anyone explain this one, two or three Halifax players dragging Gilmour towards the touchline. One yard from touch Gilmore unloads a pass to Ince. Decision, a penalty to Halifax. Cannot recall ever seeing anything like it in all the years I've watched the game.

Just because you think everyone hates you doesn't mean they don't.
