Welsby try saver. He's made a difference.

I am glad he went for a HIA.

On a serious point, I assume there is verification that a HIA was done and passed?

F*** me, how far behind or dreadful do Saints have to be before nobody mentions the "Never write off the Saints" quote?

That wasn't the point I was making.  I was replying to the statement that 'surely we have to trust the medical staff are trained and competent' with the question of why then do we need an independent doctor.

Didn't realise they have an independent doctor never mentioned

You are not on your own. I'm glad, too.

I am glad that any players who require an HIA are removed from the field.

It's still built in me to be nervous at this stage of a game v Saints.

"Never write off the Sai..."

Oh f***, there's me at it now.

That Welsby try-saver coming across to take a speeding Ashton into touch was the highlight of a very uninspiring St. Helens performance.

I liked his passion and animation after taking the wing-man out.

I hope that image can spur Saints into some life over the next games. It is rather sad to see them playing this poorly.

Disappointing that despite being dominant in this 2nd half we haven't scored a try.

Not that we've really had to tbh.

7 out of 10 at very best for Wire, probably 6.5.

What wrinkles with me over this Warrington team is this. Why aren't Williams and Bateman back at Wigan?

Taylor-Wray is exciting to watch isn't he? Some of his movement is a little Iestyn Harris-esque imo.

Will his movement involve signing for Bradford and having a contract row with Leeds then?!?!

I think most people on here are talking about the trainer seemingly being OK with Philbin carrying on, but when he learnt he could go for a HIA or he'd get a green card he chose the HIA.

That seems to suggest he passed the onfield HIA protocols but the trainer/physio decided the team would be better for him to go off for the HIA rather than be a palyer down for 2 minutes.

I don't know if Philbin needed to go off for a HIA or not, as fans we usually have to trust the professionals on the field to do their duty. Just because Philbin had a bump above his eye doesn't mean he had a concussion or needed to go off.

That last penalty for a late shot was just absurd.

If Saints need a reminder of how bad they've been, even Hull FC scored a try last night.

Bateman has been a very good player and remains good.  But I would take Nsemba every day of the week over him now.

A lot of hard work, brave tackling but individual effort from Saints players kept the score against them low, but nobody involved thinks that was a close match in any terms other than the scoreboard.

The yellow cards can't have been too bad, or Worzel would have been all over every page of this thread.

That was an awful one sided game with Wire not even getting out of 2nd gear, My god Saints have really fallen from grace under Wellens haven't they?

Very upsetting to see.

I should probably pipe down as they'll likely go on to knock us out of the playoffs!! 🤣

Yes, I get all that.

I guess I am just used to the NRL where a player would be taken off every time after that type of serious head clash - either by the club staff and if not immediately by the independent doctor.

Congrats to Welsby for winning his cup final, making a regulation tackle when 14 points down. In fact I think he was still busy celebrating when he got folded by Bateman on the next set.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.
