It's still built in me to be nervous at this stage of a game v Saints.

I know what you mean but I was looking all over that field and realising that even if Saints made a break and had a 30m head start, I'd fancy at least four of our players to run down their fastest guy.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Tee Ritson's not as fast as he was, but he's still pretty rapid IF he gets the ball with space ahead of him. But he doesn't  get those chances much.

This really is just not the Saints of old by a long long way. Yes, they have a bunch of decent playerbut something is sadly sadly wrong somewhere, more than just a squad rebuild required.

How long is Wello’s contract?

I think he was just given an extension the other week.

It's just been extended by a year for some God knows reason.

I’ve thought about that and the only reason I can see for that is if they felt he was losing the dressing room. In an attempt to say to the players that we as a club are backing him so just get on with it.

Not the best of games but I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss. We aren't the same in attack without Dufty. We should beat Hudds and London, so I put us to finish second on 40 points. I think we'll pinch  second place from Rovers.

Can't see rovers losing again in the regular rounds, should have beat Wigan.

Well the 2 games they have are no gimmies, opposition both have everything to play for - Leigh/KR next week should be a corker and not far off a sell out

HKR have already had two tough games v Leigh, and that’s with us playing with our pivots missing.

As already stated, it will be as hostile as East Hull next week. I have already stated to my good Wire friends in Appleton that we may do Wire a favour.

I think we will !

Most teams struggle after a hard work out at Wigan, it will be interesting to see the result, as it probably gives a fairer assessment of Hull KR'S ability than Fridays game

Even though our utter, unquestioned dominance in the sport has ended, all Wiganers believe that we are really just indulgently letting the other teams win for a while in order to make it more interesting.

Hopefully someone asks Burgess about Drinkwater staying down after he mentioned that pre-match because Sky didn't.

Fair point. Can't have it both ways.

I was watching thr game on a pretty ropey Internet connection yesterday. Having seen it back at full speed now I think it was poor by Drinkwater : still a late tackle by Lees but not forceful and I fear Wilkin had a point.

Where I thought Wilkin lost credibility is he tried to get too clever, which is his way.

I think there are two debates at play here. Firstly, whether the VR should get involved when a player goes down. That has been done to death and I've given my views, but the debate is valid and is what the chat should have been about yesterday at half time when looking at Drinkwater's incident.

But where Wilkin reached was when he started talking about how we deter players from foul play in the first instant. I'm 100% of the view that both players deserved a yellow card.

Fitzgibbon's tackle wasnt the worst ever, but there was little attempt to bend his back and he made direct contact to the face of the ball carrier. They've been cards all year.

Lees' was very late on a player who wasn't looking. The ref called out the whiplash effect and again, they have been cards for more than a year now.

Wilkin stretched his argument that these shouldn't be cards as they aren't about player welfare. They are absolutely about player welfare, the punishments are to act as deterrents. When challenged by Carney he said the deterrents aren't working, Carney again challenged that that is on the tackler, which is spot on.

The issue at the moment isn't that these tackles don't deserve punishment, it's that they are being missed by the on-field ref.

Burgess with some interesting thoughts, saying that if players stay down for an extended time it should be classed a Category 1 and they are out for 11 days.

He says it addressed the problem in the NRL.
