What I hate is poorly design filters that result in crosstalk from other topics, e.g.breakthrough from" those nice tories".

I'm not blaming the Tories, this problem has been around for as long as I have and way longer as well. It's also not unique to any political party, I know some solid lefties who are easily leading the rankings of the most ignorant and selfish people I know.

I have just had to book a speed awareness course.

I was caught doing 47 in a 40 zone on a dual carriageway in Leeds.

Could I have used the excuse that I was desperate to get out of Yorkshire?

Things always seem like they're going a bit slower in Yorkshire...

I’m a big racing fan and there’s many bugbears and frustrations i feel in that , but one thing that makes me rant - race times , why don’t they mean anything ? Especially at major courses and big meetings races go off minutes late and no one seems bothered , it’s like whenever you’re ready after wandering around for ages . This is meant to be timed and the responsibility of people like the starter who’s always looking at his watch . Even the first race is late! And as I say it’s hardly ever commented on , just seems accepted it’s a rough guide although it can knock on to other races

Not really a rant but I don’t know where else to post this. The wife’s just said she “can’t do this anymore” and wants us to part, 28 years, I’m absolutely devastated, not a clue what to do or say

There are many on here.  It is likely to be a truely horrible experience.  I am sorry.  It can take years to get over it and that is a long night to get through.  It does get much better in the end.

Like clwydianrange, I don't know what to say. "Good luck, however it turns out" seems inadequate. If you need a shoulder for support, there's plenty here.

Turns out her and my “friend” have been at it for the last 9 months and muggins here seems to be the only one who didn’t know.

After everything we’ve been through. I don’t know how she could do this to me. I’ve got a room in a travel lodge ffs sat here on my own and just wondering what’s going to happen.

Does it all really mean so little to her?

Not sure what to say, but like the others say don't bottle it in and reach out for help if needed.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

A similar situation happened to my best mate Phil and we rallied around him the best we could to make sure he was ok.

Don't be afraid to reach out to friends or ask for help Phil if you need it.

The sodding Co-op bank are annoying me with their over-zealous anti-fraud system.  Three times in the last week I've had payments declined when I've tried to make them despite having more than enough money to pay the bill.  Once last week when getting my car serviced at a dealership, once at a restaurant where we've been many times and now this morning when trying to purchase a new computer.

It's embarrassing.  The restaurant especially so as the neighbouring tables all heard "sorry, that's been rejected, do you have other means to pay?" and their "customer service" department closes at 8pm.

It doesn't help that I've been in the queue to get to them for 20 minutes today and over an hour in total sorting out paying stuff with my sodding money.

BBC traffic reports.

BBC London were saying "the A13 is all open now with free flowing traffic".  Really?  While I'm sitting in a queue on it trying to get off the thing into Barking with huge queues?  50 minutes later I'd moved 200m and BBC London were saying "earlier problems all resolved and no queues".  What were they doing?  Just making it up because their budgets were cut and they were relying on a report from Dave the Builder who got through by driving along the cycle path?

It took me 4 hours to get from Ipswich to Barking.  The first 60 miles took a few minutes over an hour, the last 5 miles took 3 hours...  No problems there though according to BBC London.

It's great how their greater efficiency means you can't get anything done!

Royal Mail today.  For the first time ever (that I can remember), Royal Mail have done the dump & run with a card through the letterbox.

I'm working at home today and got a few things delivered for today to make sure I didn't miss any.  I heard the letterbox go so wandered downstairs to get it to see a Royal Mail van driving off down the road, a bunch of letters and a red "sorry we missed you" card.

The doorbell has a repeater unit just outside my office door, I just re-tested it to make sure it works, it does.

Now I either have to go pick it up, try to get someone to take delivery tomorrow or ask for redelivery on another day.

If the postie wants to work like a third-rate delivery company driver then they bloody well should go work for one.

If your sorting office is anything like ours, all that postie is doing is passing on work to others. His colleagues won’t be happy. Each time I go to collect it’s normally a 20-30minute queue with 20 people packed into the smallest room ever

I like using Royal Mail because it's boring and reliable.  If I order something for a set day and it uses them then I get it on time.  I expect abysmal delivery standards from third rate companies that treat their drivers abysmally and I rarely get overly grumpy with them if there's a problem.  That's what annoys me more than anything else, I simply don't expect it from Royal Mail.

It was probably never on the van.

I feel for you mate, my gf of 11 years, & mother to my only daughter, kicked me out last year, after I found out she'd been sleeping around for the last 5 years, with at least 5 people, including another woman. What annoys me most is that I've never seen the video.

It is the thick end of 5 years since I worked anywhere that had a phone system so antiquated that I had to dial "9" for an outside line, yet everyday I pick up my desk phone and dial "9" to make an outside call and wonder why it didn't work.
