No definitive evidence whatsoever that the last try was scored, Cobb could never give that under the current interpretations. You can, and I would, argue that it should revert to benefit of the doubt to the attacking side, but as it stands it's the correct call from both on field and video refs.

TV Tony messed up not alerting Thaler to the bobble on the previous Wire try though. Anyway as ever, champion teams overcome adversity, including refereeing calls.

So you saying that he was held up with no hands under the ball when the ball was clearly over line. Terrible call it was a clear try unless the ball can levitate over the line

What a waste of space that right side is. Owens is so poor and Peyroux does nothing. Hopefully Morgan will be an improvement and we'll get a fully fit and firing Makinson back, and actually a half back pairing who pass the ball out there!

A half back might get the ball out that way but can't imagine it'll be in space; not the Cunningham way. He thinks he's Michael McGuire and has about 2 x set moves plus the ball out of the back. The game's moved on...

Just like the Hull fans did last week, the Saints fans came on here straight away and congratulated Warrington despite their huge disappointment.  Hats off to you all.

The greatest game with the greatest fans.

Can't wait for Old Trafford and don't care who we play.

Great game right to the last. Very little in it. Well done Warrington. Saints followers, stop blaming the refs.

Not sure any Saints fans have blamed the refs, just a few randoms and Eddie and Stevo. The Saints fans on here have been superb.

Talking about the actual game, I thought Toby King had a magnificent second half. All over the place.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Stevo is deciding to go out as a bigger annoying person than ever.

Stevo is a disgrace.

Great game for the neutrals and I thoroughly enjoyed that, but nobody can argue that refereeing (on field and off) decisions can't decide games outcomes!

Honestly - regarding Lineham's try, I suspect if the ref had gone to the Video Official with a "I have Try..." call, I don't think it would necessarily have been overturned.

Steve was shouting about it being a knock on, but I didn't see any conclusive proof that Lineham did not regather the ball against his body prior to grounding. The protocol on this is quite clear, and I do not think a video ref would have felt compelled to overturn the on-field decision there.

I thought Warrington got the rub of the green tonight but at least they got themselves in position to get those calls. There was a point around the hour mark where they looked a complete shambles but some key players for Saints came up with some terrible decisions.

Really good game, and Warrington were deserved winners. Even though Gidleys wasn't a try and Peyrouxs was (thought Lineham had downward pressure with his torso so no problem with that). Gidley was a stand out but thought across the pitch Warrington were better. That said if Saints had a decent winger like Makinson instead of Owens then I think the result could have been very different!

The Peyroux no try is a perfect example of why we should get rid of this on field ref deciding try or no try.

When you watched the replay, it was perfectly obvious that the laws of physics would have to be rewritten for him not to have got the ball down. But, of course, Thaler said it was no try so the VR  has to see the ball over the line for the try to be awarded.

We should either get rid of the on the field try/no try call or allow a bit of latitude and common sense to be applied by the VR.

Dom Manfredi anyone?

Anyway, after all that, well played Wire. I thought tonight's game was played at a great intensity and I wondered how tomorrow night's would show up in comparison.

I guess we'll see.

Praise be to the Gods of Rugby League. We are, at least, spared the prospect of another final featuring only Wigan, Saints or Leeds.

Now for Hull to win tomorrow and there will be a long overdue new name on the trophy.

It's a shame it had to be manufactured and not earned....

I think Saints were hard done by tonight but I also think it was honest errors that made it that way.

I hope you're not suggesting there was a plot to make sure Wire made the GF.

In union don't they ask is there any reason not to give it? I.E benefit to attacking team
