My uncle died.  He's the first of my parents' generation on either side. The first little chink in the "if they're all alive then I'm fine" protection we all have.

The story of the little girl who died after falling from the cruise ship was so sad.

Very upsetting to read. It puts other things in context.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

None of the obituaries I've seen have mentioned his finest role as Sir George Uproar in The Ghosts of Motley Hall. I can't be the only person who remembers that show, can I...? ?

I remember him in Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Brett . Always had a presence as a character actor and a twinkle in his eye !

I remember seeing him and his wife in a production of The Cocktail Party in Manchester in the 1970s. I don't recall seeing The Ghosts of Motley Hall though.

First remember seeing Jones as one of the British intelligence in Firefox starring Clint Eastwood and then in Krull and Dune as I was into sci-fi fantasy as a young teen.

Seems a life well lived.

There's a movie that was defaced by a remake nobody wanted.
