tonyXIII Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I remember Dennis Law for his 'celebration' after scoring a goal. He would run back to the rest of the team with his right arm raised, index finger pointing skywards. He famously scored all six of City's goals in the cup tie against Luton (around 1961) which was abandoned with City winning 6-0 and only about 15 minutes left. City lost the replay, guess who scored their only goal. Thanks for the memories, Dennis. RIP. 1 Rethymno Rugby League Appreciation Society Founder (and, so far, only) member.
The Masked Poster Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Not to forget WRT Denis Law, he actually made his name at Huddersfield Town. RIP 1

Even though I’ve seen clips of him playing it’s more the voice of his co commentary on radio I remember ,in a time where there was little televised football and it was up to the commentators and your imagination to picture the game. Also immortalised in the title of the Men they couldn’t hang song ‘Denis Law and Ali McGraw’. Another legend gone Rip 1

Interestingly out of the United big 3 in the 60s he was the one who had a good rep with the Kop at Anfield. This stemmed from him once impersonating a policeman walking along the side of the pitch in a comical fashion behind the copper’s back to the delight of the Kop haha. Legend is an overused term in football but he was one. RIP Denis Law 3
